Is anybody listening?

We often think of prayer as talking to God. But does God speak back? And would we even notice over all the noise?

This October we begin a new series, Is Anybody Listening? Hearing God in a noisy world.

📅 4 Oct: Speak, Lord, your servant is listening (1 Samuel 3)
📅 11 Oct: My sheep hear my voice (John 10; Hebrews 1)
📅 18 Oct: BaptistCare Sunday, with a guest speaker
📅 25 Oct: A heart that listens (1 Kings 3; Romans 12)

Sundays at 10am · 1 Livingstone St, Ivanhoe · Everyone welcome

Too tired to pray? Too angry? Not sure you have the right words?

You're in good company.

This Sunday we begin a new series at IBC — Honest to God: Great Prayers of the Bible. We're going to spend eight weeks with some of the most raw, honest, desperate — and beautiful — prayers in scripture. Hannah weeping in the temple. Elijah asking to die. Moses interceding for people who didn't deserve it. Mary singing the impossible.

Each week we'll ask: what was the situation, what was the prayer, and where did it lead?

Psalm 130 says God's redemption overflows. Romans 8 says when we have no words, the Holy Spirit prays for us anyway. No prayer is too broken, too wordless, or too honest for God.

Join us this Sunday — 1 Livingstone Street, Ivanhoe, 10am. Everyone welcome.

Note: On Sunday 2 August our Sunday Service will be held at Rosanna Baptist Church, 5 Waiora Rd, Heidelberg Heights

What does love actually look like — in real life, in our neighbourhood, in the world? This June at Ivanhoe Baptist Church we're exploring that question together in our new series, "What Does Love Look Like?" inspired by the work of Baptist Mission Australia.
Join us Sundays at 10am — as we dig into what it means to live as Beautifiers, In-betweeners and Collaborators, bringing God's love to life every day in every place.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus gave his followers a mission that has yet to be finished. This Sunday we explore the Great Commission — not as a relic of history, but as a living call on every believer today.

From God's promise to Abraham to bless all nations, to the psalmist's cry to declare his glory among the peoples, to Paul's burning desire to bring all nations to the obedience of faith — Scripture tells one unified story: God's relentless pursuit of a world that doesn't yet know him.

With 2033 on the horizon — two millennia since the resurrection — a global movement is asking: what would it look like to finish what Jesus started? And what role does a small church in Ivanhoe have in that story?

Come ready to be challenged, encouraged, and sent.

Sundays @ 10am from now until Pentecost. Morning Tea will be served after the service.

This February at IBC we’re launching a brand‑new 8-part journey through Mark’s Gospel called “Life on the Road with Jesus.” And Mark doesn’t waste a second. No birth story. No genealogy. Just Jesus bursting onto the scene declaring:

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

Mark wrote to a church facing persecution, suffering, and doubt. They were asking the same questions many of us still wrestle with:
Who is Jesus—really? Is he worth following? Can I trust him when life gets hard?

Join us on Sundays @ 10am as we explore these questions and more.

All welcome
