Two thousand years ago, Jesus gave his followers a mission that has yet to be finished. This Sunday we explore the Great Commission — not as a relic of history, but as a living call on every believer today.

From God's promise to Abraham to bless all nations, to the psalmist's cry to declare his glory among the peoples, to Paul's burning desire to bring all nations to the obedience of faith — Scripture tells one unified story: God's relentless pursuit of a world that doesn't yet know him.

With 2033 on the horizon — two millennia since the resurrection — a global movement is asking: what would it look like to finish what Jesus started? And what role does a small church in Ivanhoe have in that story?

Come ready to be challenged, encouraged, and sent.

There is no service at Ivanhoe Baptist Church on Sunday 22 February because we will be attending the Mosaic Combined Churches Service at Regent Baptist Church.

Join Us for a Special Combined Churches Service to be held at Regent Baptist Church on Sunday 22nd February @ 10.30am.

We’re excited to welcome Rev Alexandra Sangster — Councillor on Darebin Council and Minister at St Kilda South Port Uniting Church — as she brings us a timely Lenten reflection on “The Call to Grow and Serve”.

We’ll explore how God’s word takes root in our lives and challenges us to serve our communities with purpose.

This February at IBC we’re launching a brand‑new 8-part journey through Mark’s Gospel called “Life on the Road with Jesus.” And Mark doesn’t waste a second. No birth story. No genealogy. Just Jesus bursting onto the scene declaring:

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

Mark wrote to a church facing persecution, suffering, and doubt. They were asking the same questions many of us still wrestle with:
Who is Jesus—really? Is he worth following? Can I trust him when life gets hard?

Join us on Sundays @ 10am as we explore these questions and more.

It's the Summer Holidays and the weather is heating up. Join us on Sunday mornings @ 10am as we celebrate Jesus Christ. We are meeting in the cool informal setting of our community centre.

Adventures in Radical Love - October Sermon Series
Join us every Sunday in October at 10am as we reach the conclusion of our series on the Beatitudes.
Jesus gave us a ninefold pathway for life that turns the world upside down. This October, we're exploring the final beatitude - what happens when radical love meets persecution, and why that might be exactly where blessing is found.
Through stories of Esther, Joseph, David, and Stephen, we'll discover:

Love that risks everything
Love that forgives the unforgivable
Love that refuses to retaliate
Love that prays for enemies

Join us in August as we celebrate God’s continuously unfolding love. On the 3rd and 10th we explore God desire for peace on earth and our role in constructing it. On the 17th we celebrate the centenary of our chapel and our commitment to living out the Good News of Jesus in Ivanhoe and surrounds. On the 24th we host the Mosaic Network Combined Service with guest speaker Rev Daniel Bullock, Director of Mission and Ministries of the Baptist Union of Victoria.
Sunday services begin at 10am and are followed by morning tea. A light lunch is held on the 10th. All are welcome.

Join us in July as we explore Jesus' declaration that the Pure in Heart are blessed and will see God, celebrate music that expresses faith, and hear from Rev Brett Mitchell, our Baptist Union Regional Pastor on the 27th.

Communion is celebrated on the 6th during the service. A light lunch is served after the service on the 13th. Morning tea is served each week after the service.

Join us at 10am each Sunday in the Livingstone Community Centre during July.

We conclude our Baptist Mission Australia's Mission series - "More Like Jesus" and enjoy our next instalment on the Beatitudes, Jesus' pathway to the blessed life. This month, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.” (Matthew 5:7)
Communion is celebrated on Sunday 1st and the church luncheon is on Sunday 8th after the service.
