Salvation
Salvation is a gift made available to "whosever will". It has been provide
d through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ's death on the cross, burial and victorious resurrection. Recognition of one's sin, belief in the finished work of Jesus Christ and calling upon him are all necessary aspects of receiving Christ as your Saviour. Salvation is a gift that cannot be earned or purchased for oneself or on behalf of anyone else. Jn14.6, Rom 10.13, Rom 10.9-10, 1 Cor 15.1-4, Acts 3.19, Jn 10.28, Jn 3.16, Eph 2.8-9, Tit 3.5
Salvation is a gift that cannot be earned or purchased for oneself or on behalf of anyone else (Eph 2:8-9; Titus 3:5). God’s grace has been given to all people (Rom 5:18; Titus 2:11; John 12:32), and it is God’s desire for all to be saved (1 Tim 2:4-6; 2 Pet 3:9; 1 John 2:2). Bible
The Bible, God's Holy word, is our foundation and final authority in all matters of faith, practice and life. Every Scripture is inspired by God, through the Holy Spirit and has been preserved by his mighty hand. The Authorized King James Version is the only complete, preserved, inerrant word of God for English speaking people. The KJV is the only Bible that we use for all ministries, teaching and preaching.
2 Tim 3.16, 2 Pet 1.19-21, Ps 12.6-7, 1 Co 13.9-10, Ps 119.11, Mk 13.31, Mat 5.18, 1 Pet 1.23
God’s word is pure (Ps 12:6) and sure (Ps 19:7). To suggest any contradiction in his word would be to limit God. God’s word is meant to have some depth and complexity to it (John 6:60; 2 Pet 3:16). Any seeming contradiction or difficulty is actually a lack of understanding on man’s part. God’s word is settled and complete for ever. It always was, and always will be (Ps 119:89; John 1:1; Matt 24:35; 1 Pet 1:23). As God is unchanging, so is his word. To ‘update’ the bible to make it more ‘relevant’ would be to change God’s character. God intends to (Ps 78:1-7; Ps 105:8; Is 59:21), and is able to (Ps 12:7; Rom 4:20-21; Heb 10:23), preserve his word. God may have used men (2 Pet 1:21), but it is ultimately God who preserves his word (Ps 118:8). God meant for us to have his word for his pleasure and for our benefit (Deut 30:11-14; John 10:10). Church
The church, which is Christ's church, was established by Jesus during his earthly ministry (Matt 16:18-19), the Day of Pentecost was the empowering of the church with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4). A church is an assembly of baptized believers united together with one accord to accomplish the will of the Lord. The term church is descriptive of what Christ established. Each church is described as a body (Eph 1:22-23), a building (Eph 2:20-22) and a bride (Eph 5:22-33). Therefore each ‘true’ church must be a unit and be in unity: we call this Local Church (1 Cor 12) . The church is not a large worldwide organization (we call that universal or catholic) that can never unite or be in the one place (Acts 2:1; 7:38). There is only one church, and that is the local church: an assembly of called-out believers that meets regularly (Acts 1:12-14; 2:1,46; 4:24,31-32; 11:26). Christ's church is not part of a denomination. Each church is to be autonomous (Rev 1:4) under the leadership of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of the word of God (Matt 18:17-20). The church is not a "law unto itself". Authority and the decision-making process were given to the church (Matt 28:18). Church membership requires one to be saved, and then to be “with one accord" with that church, seen in someone's willingness to be baptized (1 Cor 12:13; Acts 19:1-5), thus identifying and submitting to God-given authority (Acts 2:41; 1 Cor 12:18). This is a statement to all present of what took place at his salvation and as desire to unite with that local Baptist Church. Baptism
Baptism is an outward show of salvation (Matt 3:2,6,11; Mark 1:4), and being raised a new creature (Rom 6:4). Baptism does not save someone (Acts 8:37-38; Eph 2:8,9). It is a fruit of repentance and salvation (Matt 3:8). A person to must first be saved to be baptized (Acts 8:37-38). Baptism must be by willing obedience (Matt 3:13-17; 1 Pet 3:21). Baptism must be by God-given authority (Matt 28:16-20), and it must be by immersion (Matt 3:13-17). Only a baptism by immersion pictures Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection (Rom 6:4; Col 2:12). Lord's Supper
The Lord's Supper was an event that was given to Christ Church the night before His crucifixion. Only those who were members of His Church were present (11 disciples). Therefore, only members of this Local Church are permitted to partake in this ceremony, we call this "Closed". The Lord instituted this ceremony at the conclusion of and as a New Testament extension of the Passover meal observed by the Jews. Unleavened bread and unfermented fruit of the vine is used in accordance with the Passover meal, picturing the sinless body and blood of Jesus Christ, our Passover. It is a time of sincere self examination and to show the Lord's death till he come. Mat 26.17-29, 1 Cor 11.18-34, 1 Cor 5.7
In accordance with the biblical pattern, the timing and frequency to observe the Lord’s Supper is annually at Passover (1 Cor 5:7; 1 Cor 15:20-23). Being the Lord’s supper, it is to be observed on God’s, not man’s, terms (Ex 12:2,11,41-51). The Lord’s supper is in no way linked to someone’s salvation (Eph 2:8,9). Spiritual Gifts
Spiritual gifts or talents are given to all those that accept Christ. "Sign Gifts" were given to the early Christians (Peter, Paul etc) to verify their message. Today, those Sign Gifts have been replaced by the word of God, which is our authority. Fruit is an evidence of faith not the demonstration of gifts. The public display of "speaking in tongues", "healing", "predicting the future" or "discernment" is not glorifying God but distracting people away from true faith in Christ. The gifts or talents for Christ's Church today are found in Rom 12.5-9 and are prophecy (preaching the Word), ministry (serving), teaching, exhorting (encouraging), giving, ruling and mercy. Mat 25.14, 1 Cor 13.9-10, Mat 16.4, Rom 12.5-9
End Times
We are in the last days, as is evident in the state of society (2 Tim 3:1-7; Matt 24:1-13; 2 Thes 2:3). Nevertheless, the present day and current challenge for each Christian is to live godly and continue in the word of God (2 Tim 3:12-14), and preach the gospel (Matt 24:14). It is not for man to know the day and hour of Christ’s return, but for God only (Matt 24:36). However, it is a Christian’s responsibility to watch as a faithful and wise servant (Matt 24:42-46). God will destroy this present earth with fire and fervent heat (2 Pet 3:7-13; Gen 9:15). Jesus will return to bring the dead in Christ with him, followed by the saved who are alive and remain. From then on, all saved will ever be with the Lord (1 Thes 4:14-17). Jesus went to prepare a place for the saved. He will come again, and receive the saved unto himself, that where he is, we may be also (John 14:1-3). It is after this rapture of the saints (Rev 7:9-14) that the tribulation as described in Revelation 6-9 and 16 occurs on earth (Rev 9:18-20; 16:9-11). God’s final judgment of the world (Rev 17 and 18) and victory in the final war (Rev 19:19-21) occur next, followed by Christ’s millennial reign on earth (Rev 20:4). Following the millennial reign, the devil, death, hell, and the unsaved are cast into the lake of fire (Rev 20:10,14-15). All saved will then dwell with God in the new heaven and new earth for ever (Rev 21:1-4).
