Our loving Father, our hearts ache as we hear of Israel’s attacks on Iran, now joined by the USA. We fear where this may lead. We plead with you to intervene and make this escalation short-lived. Calm hearts and restrain further strikes. Protect innocent lives. Limit damage to homes and essential infrastructure.

Be near to families scrambling in fear. Help them find safety quickly. Strengthen parents as they steady their children. Give wisdom and clarity to those making decisions that carry such grave consequences. Restrain retaliation and prevent this conflict from widening.

Lord, overrule what we cannot control. Shorten these days of violence. Guard against pride, anger and miscalculation.

And as you have done since the days of Joseph’s captivity — turning what was meant for evil into good — we ask you even now to work redemptively through this darkness. Use it to humble hearts, to awaken repentance, and to draw many to the Lord Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen.
