At a time of renewed debate on immigration in Australia, we are called to respond with compassion, clarity and courage.

Jesus reminds us in Matthew 25:35: “I was a stranger and you welcomed me”.

As Christians, we are called to uphold truth, justice and dignity for all, beginning with right relationships with Australia’s First Peoples, and extending to every newcomer – whether they be a refugee, asylum seeker or visa holder.

Australia is a multicultural, multifaith society, strengthened by diversity. Policies that divide or dehumanise do not lead to a flourishing society; they only harm.

A strong and hopeful future is built through peaceful relationships and cooperation that honours the inherent dignity and equal worth of every person.

From Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, we have walked together through the heart of the gospel — from table, to cross, to empty tomb.

Across these sacred days, we have remembered Jesus’ love, sat with sorrow, and gathered again in the joy and hope of the resurrection.

We give thanks for all who shared in worship with us.
Alleluia! Christ is risen.

Join us 9am this Resurrection Sunday as we gather to celebrate the hope and joy of Easter.

As always this is a very family friendly service and this year we have the added excitement of having our Scholar in Residence, Dr Rachel Krohn leading the preaching.

All are welcome as we remember that death does not have the final word, and rejoice in the risen Christ.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Rev Duncan Harrison died today.

Duncan served the Uniting Church in many significant ways over the years, including as Presbytery Minister, Synod General Secretary, and Moderator of the Queensland Synod. He also shared a long and valued connection with Indooroopilly Uniting Church over many decades, and his life and ministry touched many within our congregation and beyond.

We give thanks to God for Rev Duncan’s faithful service, for the wisdom and leadership he offered, and for the care with which he served Christ and the Church.

Many will feel the poignancy of Duncan dying on Good Friday. On the day when we remember the depth of Christ’s love poured out for the world, we entrust Duncan to the mercy and peace of God.

Please hold Duncan’s family in your prayers, together with all those who are grieving his death.

Details regarding the funeral are not yet known, but they will be shared as soon as they become available.

In a world that can feel loud, anxious, and divided, Easter speaks a quiet but powerful word: peace

This Easter, Rev Charissa Suli, President of the Uniting Church in Australia Assembly, shares a message of peace, hope, and resurrection life..

“Easter begins not with certainty, but with courage. The empty tomb does not remove all questions. Instead, it opens a new way forward...”

This Easter, the Moderator of the Queensland Synod, Rev Bruce Moore, invites us to reflect on the hope and courage at the heart of the resurrection.

How exciting!

How exciting!

We’re excited to share a new initiative in partnership with Indooroopilly Uniting Church — a pilot Scholar in Residence program for Semester 1, 2026. 🙌🏻

Through this program, Dr Rachel Krohn will serve as Scholar in Residence, helping to bring theological scholarship and congregational life into closer conversation.

This partnership reflects Trinity College Queensland’s commitment to supporting the life of the Uniting Church in Queensland, creating space for thoughtful engagement with Scripture, faith, and ministry.

As part of this, Rachel will lead IUC’s Lenten Study and preach throughout the semester, including Easter Sunday.

We’re grateful to Indooroopilly Uniting Church for their partnership and look forward to seeing how this initiative enriches both our learning and our shared life together! 🤝🏻✨

2026 Palm Sunday Pageant

Some say we all need to be free; others, that we all must be controlled. Will war end with the threat of extinction, or the promise of Utopia? What does peace cost, and who pays the price?
