Hwa Tsang Buddhist Monastery

To encourage the practice and the propagation of Buddhism in Australia. Our religious services and Dharma talks are open to all.

The aim of the Monastery is to encourage the cultivation of right understanding and practice in Buddhism. We aim to spread the Buddha's teachings of the Four Noble Truths, and promote the application of the Noble Eightfold Path in our daily life, his peaceful path away from suffering. In the way of the Mahayana Buddhist Tradition, we encourage loving kindness, compassion, wisdom, and to help other

s in their spiritual development. As well, visitors are welcome to refer to, or read books, within our monastery library.

🌳💚 National Tree Day 💚🌳

Students and teachers from Hwa Tsang Monastery Tuition Class were delighted to take part in National Tree Day on the 26th July 2026, joining the Strathfield local community in planting trees and caring for the environment.

Every tree planted is a small step towards a greener future. Through working together, we were reminded that caring for nature is also an expression of gratitude and compassion. By nurturing the environment today, we help create a healthier and more harmonious world for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and effort. Together, we continue to care for our community—one tree at a time.

華藏寺補習班學生與老師們很高興參與了今年的澳洲全國植樹節活動，與社區大眾攜手種植樹木，為環境保護盡一份心力。

🌿✨ HTM Bodhi Camp 2026 ✨🌿

Hwa Tsang Monastery Bodhi Class organised a 3-day 2-night Winter Camp - Bodhi Camp - at Camp Ku-ring-gai Scout Campsite during the July school holidays. The theme for this camp was "Responsibility".

Bodhi Camp brought together students for a meaningful journey of learning, practice and friendship. Throughout the camp, participants listened to the Dharma, learnt and practised walking meditation, enjoyed team games, and experienced the joy of growing together as a community.

Through every activity, students were encouraged to cultivate mindfulness, responsibility, compassion, and mutual respect while creating lasting memories with one another. We hope the lessons learnt and friendships formed during the camp will continue to inspire them in their daily lives.

A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers, teachers and participants who made this year's Bodhi Camp such a memorable experience.

🌿✨ 2026 華藏寺菩提營 ✨🌿

華藏寺菩提園於今年7月學校假期期間於Ku-Ring-Gai童軍營地舉行一年一度的菩提營。此次的主題為“責任”。

學生們展開三天二夜充滿學習、實踐與友誼的旅程。在營隊中，大家聽聞佛法、學習經行（行禪）、參與團隊遊戲，並在和合共處中感受團體生活的美好。

透過豐富的課程與活動，同學們學習培養負責任，正念、慈悲與互相尊重，並落實於生活中，也在歡笑與交流中建立珍貴的友誼。願此次菩提營播下的善與智慧種子，在未來持續成長茁壯。

感恩所有志工老師及同學們的共同成就，讓今年的菩提營圓滿成功。

🙏🪷 HTM 7th Lunar Month Di Zang Bodhisattva Service｜Week 1 🪷🙏

The first week of our Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva (Di Zang Bodhisattva) Service (16/8) has come to a meaningful close. Devotees gathered at Hwa Tsang Monastery for chanting, reflection, offerings and collective practice, cultivating compassion and dedicating merits to loved ones and all beings.

This four-week service continues over the coming Sundays (23/8, 30/8, 06/9). We welcome everyone to join us as we continue this period of sincere practice and dedication.

May the merits of the practice bring peace, wisdom and blessings to all. 🙏

✨ Hwa Tsang Monastery Community Facilities Fundraiser Progress Update ✨
As of 30th of June 2026, we've raised A$2,163,600 which is 36.01% of our goal for the Community Facilities Building Project! 🏠 Every contribution matters — let's keep building together! 🙏

The construction of the Project is currently well and truly underway. We are still short of 64% from our targeted goal of $6M. Your continued support will be greatly appreciated.

Join us in the upcoming Kṣitigarbha Services (Di Zang Bodhisattva Services), a time of reflection, repentance, and dedication to all beings.
