Today is Census Day — Tuesday 11 August 2026!

Every household in Australia needs to complete it. This includes citizens, PRs, students, visa holders — everyone.

Why it matters for our Muslim community in Hobart & across Australia:

1. Religion + Ancestry questions

- Religion: This measures the faith you identify with, not how often you pray. Please select Muslim if that is your faith.

- Ancestry: This shows our community’s diversity. Listing your ancestry helps make a stronger case for funding for health programs, community facilities, halal services, and other local services we need.

2. Why you should care

When Muslims are clearly counted in the data:
✅ Areas with many Muslim residents get fair planning and support
✅ Funding decisions for schools, healthcare, transport, and infrastructure reflect our real needs
✅ Official data shows the true size and diversity of Muslims across Australia
If we’re not counted, we get missed out.

3. Is it safe?

Yes. Your information is protected by law:
🔒 *Privacy Act 1988* and *Census and Statistics Act 1905*
🔒 Names and addresses are separated from your answers
🔒 No information is released that identifies individuals
🔒 Personal census data is NOT shared with other agencies

It only takes ∼10 minutes online at census.gov.au

Let’s make sure our community is seen, counted, and supported.
Please complete it today and remind your family and friends 💚

*Important - Census Date for Australia: Tuesday 11 August 2026*

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

The Census is on *Tuesday 11 August 2026*, and it’s *compulsory for every household in Australia* — whether you’re a citizen, PR, student, visa holder, or visitor.

For our Muslim community in Hobart, filling out the Census helps make sure our needs are reflected in schools, healthcare, aged care, halal services, mosques, and community funding.

When you tick *"Muslim"* under religion and *"Hobart"* as your location, you help decision-makers understand and support our growing community here.

It only takes 10 minutes online at http://census.gov.au.

*All responses are confidential and protected by law.*

Let’s make sure Hobart’s Muslim voices are counted 💚

Regards,
Tasmanian Muslim Association.

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Communities,

Jazak Allahu Khair to everyone who attends Friday prayers and makes the effort to park legally and respectfully.

- *Do not park at the Mosque Driveway (Day or Night) for all the time.*

- Park only in designated and legal parking spaces.

We sincerely appreciate everyone's cooperation and understanding. May Allah (SWT) reward you for your patience, consideration, and commitment to representing Islam with excellent character.
