This month, in the midst of so many other pressing intentions, the Holy Father invites us to pause and especially lift up priests who are struggling, so that they may once again experience the nearness of God and his people and rediscover hope and joy in their calling. 🙏💙

Take a moment today to pause in prayer with Pope Leo XIV by watching this month’s video on our website and joining the global prayer intention for priests in crisis. https://bit.ly/3QjJ2iU

Good Friday service at 3 pm, at St Joseph's Church, Pialba.
See you here.

Today, we reflect on the meaning of Good Friday: a love that endures suffering, forgives completely, and gives everything.

In silence and sadness, we witness the depth and impact of true love. Jesus embraces humanity's brokenness to redeem it.

“Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.”

Did you know that it is not proper to refer to the Catholic Church as the "roman catholic church"? There are 24 distinct sui juris (self-governing) Churches that are in communion with one another and under the primacy of the pope, and they use different rites in their liturgical worship. A good example is the Maronite Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Brisbane.

Good news!

Pope Leo XIV is coming to Australia!

Following the Pope’s installation in May of last year, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese extended a formal invitation to the new Pope to attend the Sydney congress known as Eucharist28, which is scheduled to take place in 2028.

Chief executive of the event, Bishop Richard Umbers, revealed to the press that they have been in contact with Pope LeoXIV and expressed their anticipation for his visit, to which the Pope said, “Well, it’s still a way off, but I’ll be there.”

The event will mark the 100th anniversary of Australia’s first international Eucharistic Congress, first held in Sydney in 1928.

The hope is that Eucharist28 will encourage communities to delve deeper into their faith, appreciate the presence of Jesus and prompt spiritual conversation.
