CCD Sydney - Catholic Scripture in Public Schools

CCD Sydney - Catholic Scripture in Public Schools Since 1958 CCD Sydney has taught over 1 million Catholic children in public schools. If you think you'd like to be a catechist, we'd love to hear from you.

A non-profit organisation of the Archdiocese of Sydney that provides religious education & Christian formation for Catholic students in primary and secondary public schools. The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine is an Ecclesiastical Organisation of the Archdiocese of Sydney that provides Catholic education and faith formation to primary and high school students in NSW. Currently 31,000 children

are taught every week in some 400 schools across Sydney. This work is a direct result of the tireless efforts and selfless generosity of over 2000 dedicated people who share and teach their faith as catechists. Our catechists come from all walks of life, varying in background, age and occupation. Their common thread is their love for their faith and the desire to share it with the young students entrusted in their care. All our catechists are child-protection screened and trained in classroom management. In NSW, Scripture Classes for all faiths are run during an allocated time, on average once per week, with parental permission. Catechists are provided with a Teaching Manual and all students will have their own activity book. You can teach within your own suburb or on days that you are free. To find out more, get in touch with your local parish or call us on (02) 9307 8330.
