John Bunyan, contemplating the riches of the Lord Jesus' words in John 6:37: "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out," imagines for us the following dialogue:
“But,” you say, “I am a great sinner.”
“I will in no wise cast out,” says Christ.
But I am an old sinner, you say.
“I will in no wise cast out,” says Christ.
“But I am a hard-hearted sinner!”
“I will in no wise cast out,” says Christ.
You say, “But I am a backsliding sinner.”
“I will in no wise cast out,” says Christ.
“But I have served Satan all my days!”
“I will in no wise cast out,” says Christ.
Again, “But I have sinned against the light.”
“I will in no wise cast out,” says Christ.
But I have sinned against mercy!”
“I will in no wise cast out,” says Christ.
But I have no good thing to bring with me,” you say.
“I will in no wise cast out,” says Christ.
