Praise God for a wonderful weekend of fellowship, service, and encouragement in the Lord!

On Saturday, we held our Ladies' Meeting hosted by the Aboriginal Christian Church Teaching Centre of WA. The theme verse was Proverbs 31:26 (KJV):

"She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness."

It was a blessing and an encouragement to all our ladies that God has given us an important role, and that we are saved to serve our Lord Jesus Christ. We are so thankful for Cissy Nuggett and Brenda Shaw for travelling down to share God's Word and encourage the ladies. Please keep them in your prayers as they return home to the Kimberleys.

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only..." — James 1:22 (KJV)

Today, we were blessed to have a combined church service with Mandurah. What a joy it was to gather together in Christian fellowship! Pastor Greg preached from Revelation chapter 1, reminding us of the glory and majesty of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Following the service, we headed down to the foreshore and enjoyed lunch together. Afterwards, the saints went out into the community, handing out Gospel tracts and sharing the good news of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. By God's grace, over 100 Gospel tracts were distributed throughout the afternoon.

"Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." — Mark 16:15 (KJV)

We pray that the seeds sown today would take root in hearts and that many would come to know the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

"So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase." — 1 Corinthians 3:7 (KJV)

What a full weekend of blessings, fellowship, and the love of God! We thank the Lord for His goodness and for the opportunity to serve Him together.

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" — Psalm 133:1 (KJV)

To God be all the glory!

Roadside Reflections: Travelling through rural Victoria, I came across the old Dragline Excavator at Porcupine Flat. Its mighty engine fell silent more than forty years ago when the gold-dredging operations there, came to an end.

Since that day, the giant machine has stood motionless beside a nearby creek, slowly surrendering to rust and decay, amid the Australian bush.

Yet this was not always the case. There was a time when the Dragline was one of the most powerful machines in the district. Built to move hundreds of tons of earth, in the search for hidden treasure in the ground.

Day after day, its enormous bucket scooped and shifted the soil in pursuit of precious gold. Today, what was once a symbol of power and productivity stands as a silent reminder of a bygone era.

For Christians, the Dragline serves as a warning to each of us. Every believer is saved to serve. We were never saved to sit idol as we age but rather, we need to remember that we are here to serve with the best of our abilities until the Lord takes us home.

God has given every beliver natural talents and spiritual gifts and open doors of opportunities to serve God and others.

A Dragline Excavator is of no use on the goldfields if it stands idol. These giants of Excavators were created to have enormous power within and were to be used by their purchasers to dig up treasures yet undiscovered.

For the Christian, we too are a vessel that contains great power, the power of the Holy Spirit; and we have been purchased to work whilst we can.

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's” (1 Cor 6: 19-20).

The Christian's work involves bearing a godly testimony, serving others with humility, and proclaiming the Gospel faithfully. As we labour for Him, we must remember that our greatest treasures are not found on earth but in Heaven.

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal” (Matt 6:19-20):

The abandoned dragline searched for earthly gold; the faithful Christian searches for eternal treasure. Every soul won to Christ, every act of service rendered in His name, every sacrifice made for the Gospel will have everlasting value.

Each believer was not saved to be a silent monument of the past, but rather to be a steadfast minister for the Lord. We were not redeemed to rust away but to remain active in the search for precious souls that will be part of our treasure in Heaven.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Cor 15:58).

May the Lord help us to keep looking for His treasures, until the day we hear our Saviour say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:21)
