Gympie Wesleyan Methodist Church Youth At Lighthouse Youth, we have a heart for the youth of this country.

It is such an honor to serve our church and community in being the youth leaders for Lighthouse, reaching out to the youth of Gympie. Our calling to to build strong confident young men and women equipped to face the challenges that the world throws at them.

Good morning Youth! 👋

Tonight we’re kicking off our Beyond Youth Bible Study!

What is Beyond Youth?
Beyond Youth is a fortnightly Bible study that will run in place of our regular youth program every second week. It gives us an opportunity to slow things down, dive intentionally into God’s Word, ask questions, and disciple one another in a way we haven’t always had space to do before.

Tonight we’ll be starting with an overview of the book of Galatians, before jumping into the first chapter or two together.

🍪 Snacks will be provided throughout the night

Term three is a go! 🥳

This term, our Friday nights will alternate between our regular Lighthouse Youth program and Beyond Youth.
Beyond Youth will have a simpler, more relaxed format, giving us space to be more intentional as we work through a book of the Bible, have meaningful conversations, and hear from different people across our church community.

We’re excited for a term of fun, deeper faith, purposeful discussion, and stronger connections with the wider church! 🙌

No Youth Tonight!
We’re following the private school term schedule, to youth will be back on next Friday. We’ve got a fun term ahead and can’t wait to see everyone then!

Good Evening Lighthouse!
It’s much to my disappointment that we have decided to postpone our mattress chase this term as the majority of our leaders are away at the moment don’t have enough hepers on hand to run a safe event 😢
However, that doesn’t mean we can’t have a great night anyway. We will be meeting tonight for a Lighthouse Youth Movie Night where we’ll be watching Facing the Giants.
We’ll have popcorn and snack available through the night, all you have to do is rock up (feel free to bring a bean bag to sit on).
Tonight will be the last week of lighthouse youth for the term as next Friday is a public holiday (good Friday).

Hello Lighthouse Youth! 😃
I know you probably thought that this week was going to be a mattress chase, but we’ve had to do some shuffling in the name of logistics (don’t worry, because the mattress chase is coming!)
This week however, We’re going to go head to head for a Lighthouse Trivia Night!
We will be having an all out trivia battle involving an assortment of trivia, minute to win it games, and high intensity lightning rounds. There can only be one winning team!
So come along and switch on your brains because its going to be a fun night.

‼️ Important information for the 27th (last week of term)‼️
On another note, If your family or someone you know has an old mattress that is no longer wanted and would be willing to be donated for our mattress chase next week, please reach out! we are looking for 4 to 6 mattresses (preferably not too big) that can be carried through town (if you don’t know what a mattress chase is, think scavenger hunt with a twist).
We also need parent volunteers to help out on the night to make sure everyone is safe and accounted for. some parents to patrol in cars, and some to go with the teams and leaders.

Hey Lighthouse Youth!

This Friday, come dressed up as something (anything) that starts with the letter “P”. From Paramedics and penguins, there are hundreds of options for you to choose from. If your strapped for time and can’t get something to wear together, you could even just come as a person (though that probably won’t win you any prizes). So get creative, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

we’re capitalising on summer while its still here with a water night 💦

with a water slide, water balloons and slippery games, its sure to be a great time.

Bring a towel and a change of clothes to get changed into after youth.
