St Charles Seminary A Roman Catholic Seminary preparing men for the Diocesan Priesthood in Western Australia.

St Charles’ Seminary is a place of formation for Catholic priests in Western Australia. Located east of the city in Guildford, the seminary is part of the Archdiocese of Perth and is presently under the jurisdiction of Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB. Once a seminarian has completed his formation and has been ordained to the priesthood, he will then serve in his own diocese. Seminarians from the

Provincial Dioceses of Broome, Geraldton and Bunbury also receive their formation at St Charles Seminary, as well as religious congregations when requested.

Before entering St Charles Seminary, Fr Jason Yeap was a civil engineer with plans for a very different future.

What began with one simple question from a parishioner eventually became a journey of discernment, surrender, and discovering where God was calling him.

Now ordained a priest and serving at St Mary's Cathedral, Perth WA , Fr Jason’s story is a reminder that vocation often begins quietly — through prayer, questions, conversations, and openness to where God may lead.

As we celebrate Mother's Day, we acknowledge with gratitude the selfless love of mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, and mother figures, near and far, living and those who have gone before us to the Blessed Union. Julian of Norwich, a renowned medieval mystic, astutely observed that a mother's love is a profound analogy for Christ's boundless and unconditional love for us. Her writings in early Middle English beautifully convey this truth: "Crist, oure sauiour is oure trewe moder, in whome we be endlessly born." We invoke the intercession of Holy Mary, our Blessed Mother for all mothers. Today, we were warmly received by Fr Chris Alambe and the parish community at Sacred Heart, Highgate.
