Our school bands were fortunate enough to spend a fantastic day at Don’t Poke the Bear Recording Studio in Geelong, where they had the opportunity to experience life inside a real recording studio.

The students recorded a number of their songs, learned more about the recording process and gained a fascinating insight into the music industry. Everyone did an incredible job and should be very proud of what they achieved.

A huge thank you to the team at Don't Poke the Bear for such an amazing experience!

Keep an eye, and an ear, out for some exciting music coming soon!

Congratulations to Zhenqi from 5/6 who was a prize winner in this year's poster competition. Fernando Garcia from Barwon Water visited our school today and presented Zhenqi with her prize during a year 5/6 assembly. Zhenqi was awarded 3rd place overall.
This year’s theme, ‘Water Heroes—Make Every Drop Count’ encouraged students to use their creativity to highlight the importance of saving water and protecting this precious resource.
With over 2,600 entries from across the Geelong region, placing third overall is an outstanding achievement and a wonderful recognition of Zhenqi’s artistic talent, creativity and thoughtful response to the theme.
Well done, Zhenqi, we are very proud of you!

Footy Colours Day 2026

Footy Colours Day 2026 was a fantastic day, with every class put through their paces by our wonderful Health and Wellbeing Leaders! A huge well done to all eight of them for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout the day, ensuring every session was challenging, engaging and, most importantly, plenty of fun!

The day culminated in one of the most anticipated events on the Nazareth sporting calendar, the annual Staff v Students Showdown! In glorious sunshine, the Students were out of the blocks quickly, booting the opening goal inside the first 30 seconds. The Teachers soon settled, but it was the Students who took a narrow 2.1.13 to 1.3.9 lead into the first change. With the breeze at their backs and a parochial home crowd roaring them on, the Students put their foot down in the second term. They opened up a commanding 17-point advantage by the main break, leading 5.2.32 to 2.3.15. The experienced Teachers weren't finished, though! With the breeze in the third quarter, they began to wear down their younger opponents, holding the Students goalless and creeping back to within just two points at the final change 5.3.33 to 4.7.31. The final quarter was a classic. The Teachers hit the lead, the Students wrestled it back, and the game remained in the balance before the Teachers finally steadied. A couple of crucial late goals sealed a historic 11-point victory, sparking jubilant scenes at the final siren!

FINAL SCORE
Teachers 7.10.52 defeated Students 6.5.41

Best Players
Teachers: Lennon, Kalkandis, Fahey, Reid, Sherlock
Students: Matthews, Walter, Bowman, Fazio, Tute

Most importantly, across the day our Nazareth community raised $280 for Footy Colours Day, supporting kids with cancer. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

A huge thank you must also go to Grovedale Football Club for their wonderful support of the day too.

Families who would like to make an additional donation can do so through our Footy Colours Day fundraising page:
