Last week, our Year 5/6 students were invited to participate in a new stand up program. The sessions involved both the Victorian Police with an Education bullying seminar and basketball players from Geelong in a basketball clinic.
Students joined both sessions and had an opportunity to be active and learn who to stand up for others in and outside of school.
This program has been brought together by past student Alex Scott who began the not-for-profit. Alex's dream is to see this program extended to as many schools and students as possible at no cost. All funding for this initiative comes from the collection and recycling of cans. Alex continues to work with a range of organisations and we were pleased to be the first school to host the program.
If you and your family wish to help out this cause, you too can collect cans and select Shoot For Kindness in the CDC app (under the charities link) when cashing the cans in.
