A huge congratulations to the 30 Nazareth boys who proudly represented our school at yesterday's Dooliebeal District AFL 9's Tournament.
Playing in tough conditions throughout the day, with rain, wind and cold temperatures making things challenging, all three Nazareth teams displayed outstanding determination, resilience and sportsmanship. The boys embraced every challenge, competed fiercely, and represented our school with pride.
Team 2 and Team 3 worked tirelessly all day and should be incredibly proud of their efforts. Despite facing some strong opposition, both teams demonstrated fantastic teamwork, persistence and a positive attitude from start to finish.
Team 1 entered the day with the difficult task of defending last year's title. They started strongly with an opening-round victory before suffering a tough loss to Lisieux. Facing an uphill battle to keep their campaign alive, the boys responded brilliantly, remaining competitive throughout the day. Narrow losses to Armstrong Creek and Torquay Coast, both by less than a goal, saw them finish third in their pool.
The boys earned a shot at redemption in the 3rd Place Playoff, where they once again met Armstrong Creek. Producing one of their best performances of the day, Team 1 secured an impressive victory to finish 3rd overall in the tournament.
Results aside, the way all 30 boys competed, supported one another and represented Nazareth was something to be incredibly proud of.
