Come, Holy Spirit! 圣灵降临!오소서, 성령님! Viens Saint-Esprit ! Komm, Heiliger Geist! Приди, Святой Дух!…

Just some of the many languages we are hoping to hear next Sunday as we celebrate Pentecost - the day the Holy Spirit 🔥🕊️first descended on the disciples and the “birthday of the Church”!

It will be a particularly joyous occasion as we pray the Holy Spirit accompanies and strengthens those about to be confirmed that day on their Christian journey. Wear something red and join us!

Some lovely images of our church family worshipping this Easter morning, as we gathered before sunrise for the Great Vigil, and later for a Festival Choral Eucharist.

“Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, why are you weeping? For whom are you looking?’ Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, ‘Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.’ Jesus said to her, ‘Mary!’ She turned and said to him in Hebrew, ‘Rabbouni!’ (which means Teacher).” —- John 20:15-17

Imagine Mary’s shock of joy when Jesus spoke her name… no wonder she rushed to tell the other disciples “I have seen the Lord!”.

Today we celebrate new life and new hope in Christ. He is risen indeed - alleluia! 🌄✝️🥳

Good Friday begins with a trial and ends with a death sentence. And yet…

God sent his Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through him.

Good Friday commemorates Christ’s triumph over death. Today we celebrate both his passage from death to life, and our share in that victory through baptism.

Maundy Thursday marks the beginning of the Great Three Days of Easter, where we remember most deeply the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the night where Jesus showed his disciples what servant leadership looked like by washing their feet, and commanding us to do likewise. 👣🧼

It is the night of the Last Supper, where Jesus broke bread and poured out wine, instituting the sacrament of Holy Communion. 🍷🍞❤️

And it is the night where we strip the sanctuary as a reminder of the haste and chaos as the disciples abandoned Jesus. 👥🫥

Be part of our journey towards the cross: join us for the most solemn and beautiful liturgy that will only culminate on Sunday morning. 🙏😔🎶

🎶 “All glory, praise and honour
to you, redeemer, king,
to whom the lips of children
made sweet hosannas ring…” 🎶

The Hosannas will be ringing out at St Paul’s this Palm Sunday morning as our hearts turn to Jerusalem and the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Please join us as we participate in a shared reading of the Passion narrative that sets out the dramatic events of the week to come, followed by the Eucharist (Holy Communion). It’s the start of a journey together to the Cross that you won’t forget!
