2026 Australian Census – 11 August

On 11 August 2026, every person in Australia will be asked to complete the Australian Census.

Conducted every five years, the Census provides an important picture of Australia’s population and helps inform government planning, public policy and the allocation of essential services.

We encourage all members of our Church and community to participate and ensure that their Census information is completed accurately.

For those who require assistance, volunteers will be available at St Hurmizd’s Cathedral on the following dates:
Tuesday 4 August & Wednesday 5 August, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Monday 10 August, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Households will receive a letter in the mail containing a unique Census reference number, which can be used to complete the form online.

We encourage anyone who needs support to visit the Cathedral during the listed times.

التعداد السكاني الأسترالي 2026 – 11 آب / أغسطس

في 11 آب / أغسطس 2026، سيُطلب من جميع المقيمين في أستراليا المشاركة في التعداد السكاني الأسترالي.

ويُجرى التعداد السكاني مرة كل خمس سنوات، ويُعدّ من أهم الدراسات الوطنية التي توفّر صورة دقيقة وشاملة عن سكان أستراليا، مما يسهم في دعم التخطيط الحكومي، وصياغة السياسات العامة، وتوزيع الخدمات الأساسية والموارد بما يتناسب مع احتياجات المجتمع.

ونشجّع جميع أبناء كنيستنا وأفراد مجتمعنا على المشاركة في هذا التعداد، والتأكد من إدخال بياناتهم بصورة صحيحة ودقيقة.

ولمن يحتاج إلى المساعدة في إكمال استمارة التعداد، سيتواجد متطوعون في كاتدرائية القديس ربان هرمز في الأوقات التالية:

* الثلاثاء 4 آب / أغسطس، والأربعاء 5 آب / أغسطس
* من الساعة 5:00 مساءً حتى 7:00 مساءً
* الاثنين 10 آب / أغسطس
* من الساعة 5:00 مساءً حتى 7:00 مساءً

وستتلقى كل أسرة رسالة بريدية تتضمن رقما مرجعياً فريداً للتعداد السكاني (Census Reference Number)، يُستخدم للدخول إلى الموقع الإلكتروني وإكمال الاستمارة إلكترونيًا.

وندعو كل من يحتاج إلى المساندة أو الإرشاد إلى زيارة كاتدرائية القديس ربان هرمز خلال المواعيد المذكورة، حيث سيكون المتطوعون على استعداد لتقديم المساعدة اللازمة

Today the Assyrian Church Seniors Group shared a lovely afternoon tea with His Eminence Mar Meelis Zaia, celebrating 34 years since their establishment.

For over three decades, our seniors have been a blessing to our church community through their faith, fellowship, and dedication. We thank God for His continued blessings and pray for many more years of joy, good health, and togetherness! 💖
