Today marks a HUGE milestone in the construction of Greenacre Grand Mosque — the women’s prayer section, the biggest in Australia, has officially been concreted and completed! 🤍

This is a massive achievement and one that is so needed and deserving for our sisters. A beautiful space is being created where thousands of women will be able to pray, learn, connect and worship together, inshaAllah.

And trust us… there is SO much more to come! 👀🔥

Designed in the shape of an octagon, the sisters’ section has been carefully planned to create a beautiful, spacious and connected prayer experience — including a direct view towards the men’s section.

And we’re not just building a ladies’ section… we’re building what we believe will be the biggest ladies’ section in Australia. 🇦🇺

A LEGACY THAT SPANS GENERATIONS. 🕌

This photo tells a story of vision, sacrifice and service.

Sheikh Khaled Zeidan and Hajj Abdullah Chami stood alongside Prime Minister Gough Whitlam at the grand opening of Lakemba Mosque — helping establish and build what would become one of Sydney’s most iconic mosques.

And the story didn’t end there.

After helping build Lakemba Mosque, they went on to purchase 2 acres of land in Greenacre 42 years ago — the very site where our new masjid is now rising.

Today, that same legacy continues.

The people who helped build one of Sydney’s most iconic mosques are now helping build Sydney’s biggest mosque.

From Lakemba to Greenacre.
From one generation to the next.
From a vision to a legacy.
