Congratulations and blessings to those candidates and their families who have participated in First Holy Communion, also known as First Eucharist. We hope you can continue to deepen your prayerful experience. You have been through the first phase of the sacrament, the preparation. Now you have also been through the second phase, the celebation. Then begins the longest phase, the living of life in the sacrament. This is marked by continuing to come and receive the presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. It is also a continuing to be part of the body of Christ, which is the living and breathing people, just like us, who also together share in the body of Christ. People who then are the face and hands of Christ to others in their families, schools, workplaces, and even at sport or the shops.
