FYI - Next Saturday 29th August 2026. THE BEHEADING OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST liturgy.
Saturday 29th August 2026, our Holy Church St John the Baptist Batemans Bay commemorates the Beheading of the Holy and Glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John and the Feast Day of our churches name.

Matins and the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated from 8:30 - 11a.m at St John the Baptist Batemans Bay and Father Kyriacou Theologou, from our parish of St Pantelimon Goulburn welcomes everyone.

This Feast brings before us the unwavering witness of the Forerunner, who prepared the way of the Lord, and who bore testimony to the truth of Christ. The Beheading of St. John is a profound testimony to faithfulness, humility, and sacrifice in the face of worldly power and injustice, and stands as a reminder that fidelity to God and His commandments often requires sacrifice, yet always leads to eternal life.

In observance of this solemn commemoration, is a strict fast day.

May the intercessions of the Honourable Forerunner, St. John the Baptist, strengthen and guide us all.

HOLY PROPHET, FORERUNNER AND BAPTIST JOHN, INTERCEDE TO OUR LORD FOR US!
