Don’t just do Christianity as a hobby. Seek Him.

You’ll never know the fullness of life from a distance. As James 4 reminds us, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”

We live in constant pressure to improve, optimise, and prove ourselves. Paul names the same tension in Colossians 2 — where people were being told that faith in Christ wasn’t enough, and more was needed to truly belong.

But he’s clear: what they were chasing were shadows. Christ is the substance.

So don’t let anyone move you back into striving, comparison, or rule-keeping that looks wise but cannot change the heart. You don’t grow by adding more on top of Jesus. You grow by staying with him.

How do we see our giving, serving, and life together as the church?

Do we see them as things we need to get right, or as a response to what Christ has already done for us? Christ came to serve us, love us, and lay down His life for us. He has given us the greatest gift of all: Himself.

As those united with Christ and brought into a new family, we now get to spur one another on and live together in joyful response to our salvation.

The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone.

Outside of our Sunday gatherings, Gospel Communities are one of the main things we do at Liberti. Throughout the week, we gather in homes and coffee shops to live life together and experience the gospel in ways we can’t on our own. It’s where disciples are made, pastoral care happens, leaders are developed, and the beautiful relational life of the New Testament church is experienced.
