Save the date! Next year our church celebrates 140 years of Gospel Ministry here in Glenhaven or, as it was then known, Sandhurst. To celebrate we'll be having an Anniversary Dinner on Saturday the 18th of April.

The humble beginning of our church were recorded in the Cumberland Mercury Newspaper on Wednesday 21st of April 1886:

"On Thursday evening April 15th, a mission room was opened by the Rev. C.H. Gibson.... Mr. Swannell, in whose house a Sunday School has been held for the last two years, has kindly consented that Divine service should be held there also. At the close of the opening service, Mr. James Purser in a few encouraging words expressed a hope that ere long some land would be given for a church, and kindly promised £5, towards the er****on of it. The name of the mission is called 'Emmanuel'."

Tomorrow (Sunday 31st August) we will enjoy a combined service at 10am at Emmanuel, Glenhaven, followed by packing all the food together. Come and join us!
