We need your assistance in 2 ways; Firstly for your generous financial support which I explained last week by the following statement:
We were very heartened by your response to the recent appeal which told us how important it is to you that we maintain FLI as a going concern. In order to be effective we also need to be a growing concern. As the great pro-life champion and founder of Human Life International, Father Paul Marx OSB would say; “Money is not the problem, money is the solution!” Please keep us in your prayers and where possible help us with your donations to assist us in building FLI into a more effective force in the battle for Life, Faith and Family. See below for bank account details and payment methods.
Secondly as explained in the following:
Nearly two and a half years ago we published the following article as an open letter to the Australian Catholic Bishops. Nearly six and a half years ago we published an article exposing a permission given to Australian Catholics to join freemasonic organisations by the then General Secretary of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC) Father Stephen Hackett, in a reply to the Grand Master of the South Australian and Northern Territory Lodge, Mr Stephen Michalak who had written asking for clarification on the matter. Mr Michalak identified himself as a practicing Catholic. We have published numerous articles on this issue and exposing many of the immoral "laws” introduced by this country’s Parliaments with the collaboration of Freemasonry. All can be found on our website.
Given the absolute prohibition by the Catholic Church on Catholics being freemasons and the penalties which apply for such membership, which was spelled out by then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, as head of the Congregation for Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) in 1983 and reinforced by Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez as head of the renamed Dicastery for Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) in 2023 and authorised by Pope Francis, we naively thought it would be a relatively simple matter, to have our Bishops correct that erroneous advice from Fr Hackett which was made public by the Freemasons circulating the said letter on their social media pages. We wrote to the President of the ACBC Archbishop Timothy Costelloe and copied all the Bishops of the ACBC into that correspondence asking for a correction. This was met with a curt response via email from the new General Secretary Fr Chris De Souza and then with silence.
Rather than approaching Rome directly, we felt it would be more constructive to pursue a diplomatic path that might encourage a positive outcome. To this end, we arranged for a well qualified theologian to prepare very prudent, articulate and diplomatic statement on this matter to discussed by the Australian Catholics Bishops Conference. Since that permission for membership in freemasonry was given on ACBC letterhead and in what appears to be an “official” statement and that penalties for such membership prohibit the reception of Holy Communion we hope and pray that given the seriousness of the matter, the Australian Bishops will issue a statement that reaffirms the Church’s established position regarding such membership and its implications for the reception of Holy Communion.
I’m asking our supporters to refresh your understanding of this matter by rereading the article found at the following link and include this in your prayers.
16th January 2024 An Open Letter from Family Life International to Australia’s Catholic Bishops Your Excellencies, In a document dated 13 November 2023, the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith has reaffirmed the incompatibility between Catholicism and Freemasonry and has reiterated the Church....
