Family Life International - Australia

Family Life International - Australia Like the Church, FLI places great value on the sanctity of human life.

We are a pro-life, pro-family organisation of Christ's lay faithful fully adhering to the teaching of the Catholic Church and providing educational resources to that end and support for mothers in a crisis pregnancy. FLI is a national public company that adheres to and advances the teachings of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church in promoting the Culture of Life, drawing its support from a cros

s-section of Australian society, in particular, Catholics and other Christians. FLI is an organisation of lay Catholics under the patronage of The Very Reverend Julian Porteous, Archbishop of Tasmania.

Unlike the Western World, which seems intent on continuing the spiral downwards and where, when you think it can’t get any worse, they find some new depravity to champion and push on children, especially through schools and social media, the African Nations are pushing back and forming alliances to stop western imperialistic moves to promote the same immoral aberrations. This article comes originally from the John Paul II Academy for Life and Family of which I am a member and was published on LifeSite News. It is worth reading and noting, that as the Church is thriving, so is their ability to overcome these evils.

We need your support to continue our mission to arrest the slide here and promote the Catholic Faith in its fullness. Unless the Church is strong here, we are helpless to overcome the dominance of the evil alliances that exist within our country, especially freemasonry which has infiltrated everything connected with these evils and from overseas globalists who control much of what happens in Australia. Please give your most generous support.

Thank you to those who joined us today for the monthly 3rd Saturday prayer vigil. It was great having Fr Roberto Keryakos and seminarians Rainier Juanta FSSP and Petar Majetic FSSP join us, and a privilege to receive Fr’s blessing at the end of the vigil as well. We also had a few folks visiting from Tasmania join us.

See you at the next one & our weekly Friday 7-8am vigils if you can make it. God bless.

Most practicing Catholics know the saying “Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi, Lex Vivendi” which translates to “The Law of Prayer is The Law of Belief and which is The law of Life.” Or, more commonly put “As we Worship so we Believe and so we Live.” The article today in our E-News was delivered as a pastoral statement by Archbishop of Sydney Anthony Fisher OP for the Feast of Corpus Christi and first published in the Catholic Weekly. This excellent statement address the very issue of belief and practice.

We live in a world increasingly pagan and increasingly anti-Christian. How has this happened and how do we address the problem? I suggest the answers will be found in the good Archbishop’s statement and in this quote from St Margaret Mary Alacoque regards the Sacred Heart of Jesus and not from political campaigns which specifically exclude religion generally and Jesus Christ specifically:

“O God, why can I not bathe with my tears and blood all the places where Your Heart has been insulted? Why am I not permitted to make reparation for so many sacrileges and profanations? Why is it not given to me to be the mistress of the hearts of all men for a single moment, in order to atone, by the sacrifices I would make, for the neglect and folly of all those who have wished to know You, or who, even knowing You, have loved You so little? But, O my adored Saviour, what covers me with confusion and what most grieves me is that I myself have been one of these ungrateful souls. You, my God see the depths of my soul; You see how I suffer because of my ingratitude and the unworthy treatment I have given You. Behold me, O Lord, my heart broken with grief, humbled and prostrate, ready to accept from Your hand all that it pleases You to ask of me in reparation for so many outrages” (St. Margaret Mary Alacoque).

3 Months ago we had to make the following statement to introduce our edition of E-News and unfortunately we have gotten near to the end of the financial year and are in desperate need again.

“URGENT - We’ve been asking for funds “desperately” for the last few weeks and we are in serious need of at least $50,000 to get us through to the end of the financial year, 30th June 2026. If we can’t raise these funds we are likely going to have to wind FLI up as a going concern. My wife and I cannot continue to keep it afloat without these funds. If everyone on this mailing list donated just $50 we would have more than enough! Can you spare that? If half of you gave us $100 we would be just as well maintained. If just 10% of you can afford $500 again it would be well over the target. Please help us. There is a donate section at the end of this email.”

Please help us to keep FLI going. Besides helping us financially can you introduce friends and family to our apostolate and hopefully they will help.

This E-News features an excellent article on the use of aborted foetal cells in vaccine development. You all have heard me say previously how important this is to ending abortion. The Pharmaceutical companies and the University research houses they mostly fund, are providing the abortion industry with hundreds of millions of dollars (if not billions) through this “industry” which has corrupted everyone involved and dragged them into cooperation and compliance with abortion. Here is a really well credentialed “pro-choice” doctor/scientist questioning the ethics around this problem. Please read this article.

We have had some success in getting the Catholic Bishops in Australia, to correct the erroneous understanding of many priests and lay people, on membership in freemasonry. It is of course prohibited for Catholics to also be freemasons and the penalties include being prohibited from receiving Holy Communion. This means it is a serious breach of Faith and needs an education campaign from our Bishops to ensure that all those now sacrilegiously receiving Holy Communion receive correction and regularise their lives by leaving freemasonry. If not they will need to abstain from receiving the Eucharist.

Our Bishops have added a link to their website which will take you to the Vatican website with statements from Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger as head of the CDF in 1983 and from Cardinal Victor Fernandez as head of the DDF in 2023 reaffirming the prohibition on Catholics joining freemasonry. There is also further information on the Vatican website you would have to look for yourself giving greater detail on the reasons for this. The ACBC link is below.

We have been very heartened by your response to our recent appeals which told us how important it is to you that we maintain FLI as a going concern. In order to be effective we also need to be a growing concern. As the great pro-life champion and founder of Human Life International, Father Paul Marx OSB would say; “Money is not the problem, money is the solution!” Please keep us in your prayers and where possible help us with your donations to assist us in building FLI into a more effective force in the battle for Life, Faith and Family.

We need your support again to keep us going through the rest of this year and to maintain our voice in the pro-life space in Australia, being dominated by campaigns aimed at political solutions to moral problems. Large funds are being taken up on advertising and campaigning for things that won’t change the culture. Let me be clear; s*x selection abortion is a terrible thing but politicising it doesn’t save any babies and neither will legislation. It is “legal" in this country to kill unborn children from conception to birth for any or no reason. Criminalising one reason won’t end anything. The reason will just change. Unless people see abortion is always wrong at any age and for any reason it won’t end. Help us evangelise our nations lost souls.

Now in NSW the contraceptive pill will be available through a pharmacy without seeing a GP.

"NSW Health Minister Ryan Park said pharmacists have “strict standards and strict protocols” and is confident there won’t be any risks to patients with this new process.

However, the Royal Australian College of GP’s is calling on the government to “require pharmacist prescribers to complete accredited post-graduate pharmacist prescribing training rather than relying on basic 1.5–3-hour online modules”. A prescription via the pharmacist will still require a face-to-face consultation, possibly at a cost to the customer.”

We have published many articles and videos on the problems of contraception and this is a disaster being dressed up as progress. Unless we can evangelise the masses we will never end the immorality spawned by the invention of the contraceptive pill, which is itself a lie, as it doesn’t always prevent conception only, but facilitates the early termination of a tiny human being which is unable to implant in their mothers womb thanks to this chemical cocktail! Unless we can end contraceptive use we will never end abortion!

But there are concerns about a conflict of interest for pharmacists.

We need your assistance in 2 ways; Firstly for your generous financial support which I explained last week by the following statement:

We were very heartened by your response to the recent appeal which told us how important it is to you that we maintain FLI as a going concern. Secondly as explained in the following:

Nearly two and a half years ago we published the following article as an open letter to the Australian Catholic Bishops. Nearly six and a half years ago we published an article exposing a permission given to Australian Catholics to join freemasonic organisations by the then General Secretary of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC) Father Stephen Hackett, in a reply to the Grand Master of the South Australian and Northern Territory Lodge, Mr Stephen Michalak who had written asking for clarification on the matter. Mr Michalak identified himself as a practicing Catholic. We have published numerous articles on this issue and exposing many of the immoral "laws” introduced by this country’s Parliaments with the collaboration of Freemasonry. All can be found on our website.

Given the absolute prohibition by the Catholic Church on Catholics being freemasons and the penalties which apply for such membership, which was spelled out by then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, as head of the Congregation for Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) in 1983 and reinforced by Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez as head of the renamed Dicastery for Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) in 2023 and authorised by Pope Francis, we naively thought it would be a relatively simple matter, to have our Bishops correct that erroneous advice from Fr Hackett which was made public by the Freemasons circulating the said letter on their social media pages. We wrote to the President of the ACBC Archbishop Timothy Costelloe and copied all the Bishops of the ACBC into that correspondence asking for a correction. This was met with a curt response via email from the new General Secretary Fr Chris De Souza and then with silence.

Rather than approaching Rome directly, we felt it would be more constructive to pursue a diplomatic path that might encourage a positive outcome. To this end, we arranged for a well qualified theologian to prepare very prudent, articulate and diplomatic statement on this matter to discussed by the Australian Catholics Bishops Conference. Since that permission for membership in freemasonry was given on ACBC letterhead and in what appears to be an “official” statement and that penalties for such membership prohibit the reception of Holy Communion we hope and pray that given the seriousness of the matter, the Australian Bishops will issue a statement that reaffirms the Church’s established position regarding such membership and its implications for the reception of Holy Communion.

I’m asking our supporters to refresh your understanding of this matter by rereading the article found at the following link and include this in your prayers.

16th January 2024 An Open Letter from Family Life International to Australia’s Catholic Bishops Your Excellencies, In a document dated 13 November 2023, the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith has reaffirmed the incompatibility between Catholicism and Freemasonry and has reiterated the Church....

We were very heartened by your response to the recent appeal which told us how important it is to you that we maintain FLI as a going concern. This week we feature 2 videos of talks from our Conference in Albury NSW back in 2012. Fr Thomas Brancik; “The Real Presence conquers the demonic presence” and the great pro-life champion of happy memory, Monsignor Philip Reilly; “Be not afraid to proclaim the Gospel of Life with honesty and love.” Those who know me well, also understand, that for my entire career in the pro-life, pro-family apostolate, I have maintained that if we are to overcome the evil of abortion and all other evils, we will only do so through Almighty God. We cannot hope to overcome this evil through secular means even if we mount the best philosophical, scientific and rational arguments. This is because abortion and all evil comes from the demonic influence in our world. Only with God will we overcome the satanic.

These 2 videos address this issue extremely well and I commend them to you. Please spend the time and consider them well. Today there are many who have gained popularity and who maintain that we need to leave God and religion out of the debate. This is a sure path to failure. Please support us in our efforts to promote the Gospel of Life and overcome these evils through Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mary ever Virgin.

Rev Dr Thomas Brancik
