Sydney Presbytery is the regional forum for Congregations to act together in "Leading the Church to Life".

Sydney Presbytery is the regional forum where UCA Congregations to act together with Creativity, Courage and Conviction in Sydney's CBD, Inner West and Eastern Suburbs. These joint activities include: ministerial settlements, help and encouragement for Mission, approval and encouragement of candidates for ministry, help with and approval of property matters, and the pastoral care of ministers.

"School of Discipleship 2026 was held from 26–28 June and was delighted to welcome Rev Dr Sunny Chen, the Uniting Church in Australia's newly appointed Director of Faith and Theology, as keynote speaker. Sunny explored the theme, ‘Lost in Translation: Reclaiming Discipleship and the Foundations of Faith’. Across three engaging keynote sessions, he combined insight, humour and energy to examine how a 12th-century shift in Christian thinking made discipleship increasingly transactional, how key biblical concepts such as life, death, hell and redemption have become misunderstood, and how recovering their authentic meanings can help reclaim a discipleship grounded in relationship rather than transaction." - a quick reflection by Rev. The National Assembly are delighted to welcome Catherine Pepper as Associate General Secretary, Strategy & Governance and congratulate Rev Dr Sunny Chen for his appointment as Director, Faith & Theology.

Catherine also brings a deep commitment to the life and mission of the Uniting Church. A lifelong member of the Church, she served for eight years on the Assembly Standing Committee and has made significant contributions to the Act2 process, the Assembly Net Zero Working Group and other national governance bodies.

Sunny joins the Executive Team after serving as National Consultant with the Assembly, where he has supported the Church's national work in a broad range of ministry and mission priorities. An ordained Minister of the Word, Sunny has also served as Presbytery Minister in the Presbytery of Yarra Yarra and as the Synod's equipping Leadership for Mission Presbytery Minister.

It was with sadness and gratitude that Joy and Graeme officiated the closure of Beckenham Horner Uniting Church yesterday.

We give thanks for the generations of faithful people who have worshipped, served and shone Christ’s light in this place.
