Earlier this month, Associate Pastor, Fr Peter Doherty, attended his Australian Catholic University graduation ceremony recognising his completion last year of his Master of Theological Studies.
In appreciation for the support, encouragement and ongoing interest he received from our parish while he completed his studies, Fr Peter recently gifted to Parish Priest, Fr Andrew Chase, and the whole Parish community, a bound printed copy of his research project. This project looked at how the thought and evangelisation ministry of Bishop Robert Barron, 'Word-on-Fire', can assist the Church in better understanding an aspect of the conciliar theology of the late Pope, Benedict XVI.
Parish librarian, Mrs Helen Lanzon, was delighted to receive the copy of Fr Peter's work, and confirmed it is now available to borrow from the Parish Library. Look for it in the 'theology' section.
"I have been touched by the interest this project received from so many in the Parish", Fr Peter said, "my hope is that the fruits of the project can now in turn support the continuity of the work of mission and evangelisation in our parish".
At the graduation ceremony, Fr Peter was pleased to be able to reconnect with his Holy Spirit Seminary Queensland formators, including Associate Professor Dr Maeve Louise Heaney VDMF, and seminary class-mate, Fr BJ Perrett, from the Diocese of Toowoomba.
