Wonderful event with Dr Marion Kickett, a Ballardong woman born and raised in York, at St Peter's Church on 23 October! We all learned so much about our shared family histories at Gilgering and York and we look forward to meeting up again next year.

REUNION FOR THE DESCENDANTS OF JOHN & JULIA FLEAY OF TALBOT

John and Julia Fleay were married at St Peter’s Church, Gilgering on the 16th March, 1881 and lived at the Talbot farm, Beverley. They were enterprising, successful farmers and together with their nine children - Lillian, Ethel, Alex, Onslow, Violet (Tup), John (Jack), Stella, Ruby and Rita - became a well known and established family in the district. The grand children could remember many lovely occasions when they visited and stayed at the Talbot House and some of these memories have been passed down through the generations.

Thank you all for coming through to St Peter’s, Gilgering last Sunday (Oct 14th) morning and then meeting in the afternoon at the York Hockey Pavilion. Regardless of the light showers of rain in the morning, we had a successful day with approx. 70-76 people (including children) attending. Some people had travelled from Darwin, Esperance, Margaret River, Albany, Geraldton, Merredin and Perth – everybody seemed to be enjoying the day, catching up with cousins, not seen in some cases for many years. It was also great to meet up with some members from the Bartram family.
