We want to share with you that Val Thomas was Promoted to Glory on Thursday.
Her funeral will be held at the Geelong Corps on Tuesday Sept 8 at 10.30am.
She asked anyone attending to wear a splash of colour.
There will be a online link on Tuckers website.

A message from the Commissioner following the Nepal disastrous flooding.

Dear friends,
I woke this morning with a heavy heart.
Overnight, devastating flash floods struck communities along the Nepal-China border.

Lives have been lost. Many people are still missing. Homes, roads and entire communities have been swept away, and I keep thinking about the families.

Those waiting for news.
Those who know their lives will never be the same.
Those facing another day with uncertainty, grief and fear.

When tragedies like this happen, words can feel inadequate and prayer is the only place to begin. I invite you to join me in praying for the people of Nepal.

Pray for those who are grieving.
Pray for those still searching for loved ones.
Pray for rescue workers and emergency responders.
Pray for The Salvation Army teams and partner organisations who are already seeking to bring practical help and hope.

Today, let us stand with the people of Nepal in spirit. Let us ask God to bring comfort, strength and hope in the midst of unimaginable loss.

A prayer for Nepal

Loving God,

Today our hearts break for the people of Nepal.
We see images of devastation, but You see every individual story.
Every family.
Every loss.
Every fear.

Lord, be especially close to those who are grieving.
Comfort those who are waiting for news.
Strengthen those who are exhausted.
Protect those working in rescue and recovery efforts.

Where there is fear, bring peace.
Where there is despair, bring hope.
Where there is loss, bring the assurance of Your presence.

May those who feel overwhelmed know that they are not alone.
And may Your people across the world respond with compassion and generosity.

We ask this in the name of Jesus.

Amen.
