Last week, Baptist leaders from across Australia gathered in Canberra for Converge, meeting with Federal politicians to advocate for greater action on family and domestic violence.
We were grateful to have Stewart from Queensland Baptists representing our movement and joining these important conversations.
But creating lasting change is bigger than what happens in Parliament. It takes all of us, churches, leaders and communities, to help shape cultures where violence and abuse are challenged, and where every person is treated with dignity, value and respect.
As churches, we can be places where healthy, loving relationships are modelled and where people feel safe to speak up and seek support.
Please pray with us that the conversations in Canberra will contribute to meaningful change, and that our Baptist churches will continue to grow as places of safety, care and Christlike love.
🙏 Pray that those with influence will take meaningful action, and that together we can help build a future where all people are safe and able to flourish.
