Well… our livestream had other ideas this week 😅
So if you jumped online looking for Sunday’s service, you probably noticed things didn’t exactly go to plan.
But one thing from Andrew’s message on Jonah 3 has stuck with us:
Do we sometimes make faith more complicated than it needs to be?
Jonah’s story is bigger than a second chance. It’s a story about a God whose grace reaches further than we expect.
That’s probably worth thinking about this week. 👀
God is good. His grace is bigger than we think.
If faith is something you’re curious about, you’re always welcome to explore it with us. ❤️

We’re FOR Gawler. ❤️
You may have seen FOR around our community.
We love living and serving in this community, and there are so many people, businesses and organisations that make it a great place to call home.
So on Fridays, we’re going to start celebrating some of them.
Simply because we believe good things deserve to be noticed.
Local businesses. Community groups. Volunteers. Schools. Clubs. People doing great things quietly behind the scenes.
So help us get started:
Who should we celebrate on a future FOR Friday?
Tag them below, or tell us what you appreciate about them. 👇

Raising a teenager comes with big questions - about identity, relationships, faith and everything in between. Join us on October 30th at 7:00pm for an evening designed to help parents and carers navigate this stage with confidence, presented in partnership with Big Kids' Table 💛

We’ll explore how young people form their identity and values, the cultural pressures shaping their views on relationships and s*x, and how to build a safe, connected, values-based home. You’ll walk away with practical tools for having ongoing, age-appropriate conversations with your teen.

We have two venue options (select at registration)
Hope Valley Church & Westbourne Park Uniting Church. Register for free via the link in our bio.

Any questions please contact Nick Patselis at [email protected] or send us a DM.

❗️PLEASE NOTE: this session is for parents and carers of teenagers (not the teens themselves)

What will church leaders actually gain from this workshop?

Chris from Beyond Church attended the Queensland session and shared what he found helpful.

On Tuesday, we are bringing the same practical conversation to Gawler.

**Discipleship That Multiplies** is designed to help pastors and ministry leaders think intentionally about how people move from spiritual curiosity and digital engagement into real relationships, Christian community and ongoing discipleship.

The workshop is presented by the Irresistible Churches Network in partnership with RightNow Media. It will include practical work on your church’s discipleship pathway, examples using several digital tools, and a demonstration of the RightNow Media platform.

You do not need to be digitally confident or currently use RightNow Media.

Tuesday 15 September
Coffee from 9:30am
Workshop from 10am to 12pm
Transform Uniting Church, Gawler
Free, with morning tea provided

One of the beautiful things about community is getting the chance to give back to those who have generously supported us.

Over the past couple of years, Red Dove Cafe has helped make a real difference at Transform, including supporting our playground and Op Shop.

This September, we have a simple opportunity to be part of what they’re doing too.

If serving a shift at the Royal Adelaide Show sounds like something you’d enjoy, Red Dove would love to have you on the team.

📅 4 to 13 September
🙌 Give a shift
🎟️ Receive entry to the Show for your shift
🍽️ Enjoy a meal at Red Dove Cafe

Whether you can make coffee, help in the kitchen, serve people, or simply bring a willing pair of hands, there’s a place for you.

What could you do at Red Dove Cafe?

You definitely don’t have to be a professional chef. 😄

Red Dove Cafe needs all sorts of people during the Royal Adelaide Show:

☕ Comfortable making coffee? There’s a spot for you.

🍽 Love chatting with people? Front of house could be perfect.

👩‍🍳 Happy helping behind the scenes? Jump into the kitchen.

🍟 Know your way around a schnitzel and some chips? They need you too!

Red Dove has generously supported Transform through funding for our playground and Op Shop, and we’d love to see some of our community get behind them during the Show.

📅 4 to 13 September
🎟 Show entry for your shift
🍽 Meal included

Just remember to tell them you’re from Transform Uniting Church.

Here’s another place where the generosity of Red Dove Cafe is making a difference.

As we work towards the next chapter of our Op Shop, Red Dove has been one of the organisations that has helped make it possible through their financial support.

So when they told us they needed volunteers at the Royal Adelaide Show, we wanted to help spread the word.

From 4 to 13 September, Red Dove needs people who can give a shift serving in the cafe.

☕ Barista coffee
🍽 Front of house
👩‍🍳 Kitchen
🍟 Schnitzel and chips

You’ll receive entry to the Show for your shift and a meal at Red Dove Cafe as a thank you.

They’ve generously invested in what we’re doing.

Here’s a simple opportunity for us to invest back.
