Romans 8:9

Romans 8:9 from the Bible states that believers are not controlled by their sinful nature ("the flesh") but by the Spirit of God, if that Spirit lives within them, signifying they belong to Christ and are led by Him, not sin. This verse highlights the contrast between being "in the flesh" (under sin's control) and "in the Spirit," emphasizing that the indwelling Holy Spirit empowers believers to live righteously and belong to Christ, not to their old sinful selves.
Key meanings in Romans 8:9:
"You are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit": This means believers are no longer dominated by sinful desires but are guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
"If the Spirit of God lives in you": This condition highlights that the presence of the Spirit is essential for this new way of living.
"If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ": The Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ are one, and His presence signifies true ownership by Christ.
In simpler terms:
If God's Spirit is inside you, you're not controlled by your sinful self; you're under the Spirit's control and belong to Jesus. If you don't have the Spirit of Christ, you don't belong to Him.
Context in Romans Chapter 8:

Due to the approaching 30th Constituency Meeting of the Greater Sydney Conference in August, our scheduled weekend Prayer Retreat for the 12 - 14th August has been changed to 1 Day Prayer Conference at Wahroonga.
