I’m excited to release a second edition of my book, Radical Love. It’s the love story of a King for his Bride which pictures our journey with Jesus through the Song of Solomon in daily bite-sized devotional nuggets. The book was first published in 2008 and was in need of revision. While the content and message are essentially the same, the language and delivery has been significantly revised. I hope you’ll be blessed and encouraged with this updated edition.

Good Friday is good because of its implications, what it means for us. It wasn’t so good for Jesus. He was tortured and murdered. But He allowed it, this horrendous treatment, because of His love for us and His need to follow the will of God the Father. Who was also motivated by His love for us. Romans 5:8 says, “God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were still sinning, Christ died for us.” For six hours, from 9am - 3pm on a Friday, love was exalted on the cross for all the world to see.

All four gospels give an account of the events of this day and between them, we read of seven statements Jesus made from the cross, each with great significance. As you reflect upon the death of Christ today, consider what He said and remember, Sunday is coming! The resurrection overshadows the cross because from death came life.

Pause at some point today and reflect upon the cross of Christ. Gospel accounts: Matt 27:11-54, Mark 15:1-39, Luke 23, John 19
