We lament the horrific evil that has been committed upon our shores, at Bondi, on a day that must now be remembered in the story of this nation as one of our darkest: 14 Dec. We lament the horrific evil committed against our fellow Australians, including against the young and the frail, evil motivated by antisemitism and hatred. We pray for those who have lost loved ones to this horror. We pray for the healing of those who have been wounded. We thank you for individual acts of bravery and the bravery of first responders. We pray for our federal and state politicians. Grant them courage to pursue what makes for the true freedom of the Australian people rather than pursue political populism. We pray for the triumph of truth over falsehood. We pray for new political vision instead of blindness to what makes for peace. We pray for laws, judges, and resolve to truly preserve the lives of all Australians and rightly govern and bless our commonwealth. We pray that God will strengthen and protect all agents of law enforcement as they uphold what is right. Finally, we pray for the coming of messiah and we long for the righting of all wrongs and the renewal of creation that he will bring. Amen.
