As wintry cold bites and grey clouds gather, it's important to still remember there are many positive ways of contributing.
One example from last March was our 'Walk Against Waste', walking the streets to collect discarded rubbish for recycling or proper disposal, which also improves the amenity of our community. Another example, maybe using this June's tax return deductions season, is to donate funds to charities providing much needed services to those in need. Share the care.

A recent focus is concern for ongoing hardships facing asylum seekers, including: being forced to renew visas every 3-6 months; unable to study, have secure work or reunite with family; unable to live safely, sustainably and with dignity.
We hosted a " " in our electorate and our current monthly fund-raiser is for ASRC - Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, who provide important frontline services for asylum seekers.

This important event is part of a national initiative to hold 100 vigils in 100 electorates. Supported by Australian Churches Refugee Taskforce, Common Grace, National Council of Churches in Australia, and Uniting Church in Australia.

Centre 81 Drop In Centre, a public mission/ministry outreach of the Whitehorse Uniting Church, is a warm, friendly and inviting place to drop in for a coffee, a chat, for referrals, & or support, plus we offer Food Parcels at no cost to registered clients.
