The Melbourne mission team is preparing to engage in walk-up evangelism—approaching people in the street with the aim of beginning conversations about Jesus—as they get ready to partner with Laneway Church in Footscray later in March.
In last week’s Chaplaincy Group, Andrew Leslie, who is leading the team with Joan Young, emphasised the importance of flexibility when doing walk-up evangelism. Conversations can sometimes grow into hour-long discussions—moments that are both a joy, as people begin to see more clearly who Jesus is, and also demanding for those involved. Learning to steward the day well, including building in times of rest and refreshment, is important as the mission week unfolds.
Please pray that the team would have meaningful opportunities to connect with people and clearly share the saving grace of our Lord Jesus with the people of Footscray and the surrounding community.
