Thank you to Basil and Amy for donating essential food items along with some Christmas treats for Ascension Connection Midland. St. Nicholas’ Anglican Church Floreat have been supporting this amazing food relief program for a few years now, with donations regularly taken out to Midland by one of our volunteers.

All the volunteers of St Nich’s Parish Op-shop send a huge thank you from all the volunteers to all our customers and everyone who has donated over the year. Thanks for helping make our op-shop Saturdays such a special day.

Our hardworking team of volunteers will be taking a very well deserved break over January and there will be no Op-Shop in January.

We wish all our customers a very happy and holy Christmas, and a wonderful start to 2025.

This evening Archbishop Kay Goldsworthy led a special service as part of the 16 days of activism against family and domestic violence and gender-based violence, and launched and blessed our new Purple Benches.

We hope the benches will provide a comfortable place to sit in our beautiful church grounds,with one on Berkeley Crescent and one near the playground. They also provide vital information for people seeking support to leave an unsafe relationship.

A reminder that we are holding a service service this afternoon which will include the launch and blessing of our new purple benches. The service starts at 5pm, all welcome.

Happy Feast!

‘Kindness’ is front of mind for me this Christmas season so I’m especially keen to celebrate St Nicholas Day today.

St Nicholas was a bishop in Myra (modern day Turkiya) around 1700 or more years ago. He was famous for being kind and generous, especially to children and the disadvantaged.

Today, he is not just the figure on whom the concept of the white bearded Santa Claus is based, but a really good reminder that Christmas not just about secret gift giving, but also simply about being kind, and generous with our time, love and blessings.
