Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster - Flemington Congregation

Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster - Flemington Congregation Local congregation for pirates and people in and around the area of Flemington in Victoria to connec These people are mistaken.

The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, while having existed in secrecy for hundreds of years, only recently came into the mainstream when this letter was published in May 2005. With millions, if not thousands, of devout worshipers, the Church of the FSM is widely considered a legitimate religion, even by its opponents – mostly fundamentalist Christians, who have accepted that our God has larg

er balls than theirs. Some claim that the church is purely a thought experiment, satire, illustrating that Intelligent Design is not science, but rather a pseudoscience manufactured by Christians to push Creationism into public schools. The Church of FSM is real, totally legit, and backed by hard science. Anything that comes across as humor or satire is purely coincidental.

There is alot of talk in the media in the last few weeks about our religion, and even some of Australia's own clergy have been contacted.

Now, I personally know exactly why I am a Pastafarian, what made me one, and why I know it is right for me. I may get the opportunity to articulate it if I am lucky, but what about yourselves? Why are you a Pastafarian? Would love to hear your own stories, beliefs, arguments and theories. Keep it clean(ish) and stay respectful to each other though.

How were you touched? >.>

If you feel like supporting a worthy cause, here is one for you, and its cheap!

This group receives deliveries of food from places like second bite, as well as the local Rotary, in conjunction with a local Bakers Delight, and conducts food handouts of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as fresh bread and rolls, for local residents in need. The Flemington Community Food Group receives no funding, has a premises donated to them to run out of, and is run completely by volunteers.

But costs pop up, from the tables used, to the cleaning supplies, rubber gloves for food handling, and they are seeking any help they can get to cover those small costs that do add up over time.

The volunteers of this group have given their time to this cause regularly for several years now (including myself, as well as the occasional hand from Rev Snooze), and would appreciate any support no matter how small, to keep it running. It will endeavour to keep running no matter what though.

Thanks!

- Rev Lissy

Hi, I currently run a food program out of a Public Housing Estate in Flemington Vic Australia. We are provided with fruit and vegetables to hand out to those who needs it. We have barely any running costs as the whole program is run by volunteers. We currently need funds to purchase food handling...

Definitely a worthy cause, have a look people, they can deny our existance but we still exist. And the Captain of our Australian branch wants to do something about it. Help her! (if you choose, we don't force you to do stuff in this church, cos thats the pastafarian way!)

And the NSW fight is back on!

From GCFSM page

GCFSM have taken a break but have now started the process of our application appeal.

What a surprise to learn about this SRE systematic failing during the process of our preparation.

I dearly hope that no SRE provider's applications are revoked because of this e-mail.

Dear Mr. Piccoli, Mr. Cullen, Ms. Glassock and Mr. Chenery,

I am in receipt of Mr. Piccoli's letter dated 1 May 2015 outlining his decision/perception that the Gordon Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (GCFSM) application does not satisfy the criteria to become an approved provider of Special Religious Education in NSW Government Schools.

GCFSM will be appealing this decision.

Among a number of activities that our organization has conducted to prepare for the appeal, has been to spot check the the websites of the DEC approved provider list.

http://www.curriculumsupport.education.nsw.gov.au/…/approve…

Our purpose for visiting these sites was to confirm that the GCFSM curriculum as specified in our application meets the standard of those already on the approved list. Minister Piccoli specified in his letter to us that in order to meet the criteria for SRE approval, it is the responsibility of the the provider to make a curriculum scope and sequence available on a website.

If this is indeed a requirement, can you kindly point out to us where the following approved providers have hidden the SRE curriculum's on their sites? GCFSM did a spot check of the below providers and were unable to locate any evidence of it being provided:

http://www.christianbrethren-nsw.org.au/Assemblies.html

http://www.calvarychapelnewcastle.com.au/

http://armidale.catholic.org.au/

http://www.bathurst.catholic.org.au/

http://www.mn.catholic.org.au/

http://al-jaafaria.org.au/

Additionally, we wanted to inquire if a screen shot of a front cover of a workbook qualifies as meeting the requirement of a "sufficient curriculum scope and sequence" as this provider has done?

http://www.bje.org.au/programs/scripture.html

GCFSM would also like to clarify if this provider has met the requirement of "sufficient curriculum scope and sequence" by providing the following outline?

http://www.apostolic.org.au/media/ACA_SRE_Curriculum.pdf

In the belief that these providers have fallen short of the requirement, GCFSM have taken the liberty to copy stakeholders and the press who may be able to assist the Department of Education and Communities. The DEC obviously have other priorities than to ensure that the website curriculum requirement is adhered to by non-pasta-based religions. One wonders how many of the other approved providers are in non-compliance.

I dearly hope that our shining a light on what we believe to be another SRE systematic failing does not cause any disruption to the program.

In the meantime, we look forward to receiving your advice on the minimum amount of compliance that is expected of the GCFSM in this regard.

Yours sincerely,
Rev. Dan Guenther
