Romans 8: 37 encourages us that this is the grace we stand in. That noting can separate us- death, life angels, demons, present chaos or future unknowns. Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ.

God is for you- God loves you!

Mary broke open her jar of perfume. It was something incredibly valuable and possibly a family heirloom. What was being saved for an important occasion for herself was instead used for Jesus.

To open the jar, Mary had to break it, and commentators let us know that it all had to be used. There was no saving some for later. Once that jar was broken, there was no going back.

That’s what Jesus calls us to—total devotion. Like Elisha burning his plows, or the rich young ruler who walked away sad because he couldn’t let go, we are called to break open our own jars and devote our lives to Jesus.

God uses what’s already in our hands to build His kingdom.

We might not know all the details, but when we offer our lives in full devotion, we naturally fit into God’s purpose.

To walk with God is to carry your cross.
Live as resurrection people between easter and the final day.

Break your jar - Burn your old life on the altar.

Jesus’ first miracle of turning water into wine at the wedding pointed to the greater miracle where he turned wine into blood at the last supper. It was here the new covenant was announced, bringing forgiveness of sins and the indwelling of God’s Spirit in believers.

“Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.”

How good was it having Andrew & Maija (and the kids!) with us last weekend. Just under ten years ago, they obeyed the call of God on their lives and left Australia to plant a church () in Phnom Penh Cambodia. Thank you for encouraging our church to not let comfort stop us from engaging in mission both globally and locally.
