We were truly blessed to have held our Couples for Christ Leaders’ Summit last weekend, 8–9 November 2025, at St Francis of Assisi Hall, Mill Park. Despite the cool and rainy weather that hardly felt like spring, our spirits remained warm and steadfast. Nothing could deter us from gathering in prayer, reflection, and fellowship—listening intently to what the Lord is calling us to do and where He is leading us for 2026.

A Journey of Faith and Fellowship: The Melanesia Theme Weekend Retreat

The Melanesia Theme Weekend Retreat was a special event one that brought together people from all walks of life on a journey of faith and fellowship. It was a chance for friends and strangers alike to come together share stories and strengthen bonds in a setting. Simply put the retreat was about old-fashioned community and camaraderie, with a healthy dose of spiritual exploration thrown in for good measure.

The Melanesia Theme Weekend Retreat took on a life of its over 32 incredible days unfolding as a traveling spectacle that wound its way through four island countries. It all kicked off in Vanuatu then meandered through Fiji and the Solomon Islands before coming to a close, in Papua New Guinea. The journey kicked off on the weekend of August and wrapped up just yesterday, August 31, 2025.
Regional Coordinators Bro. Nonoy Albano & Sis. Tina Albano took the lead with Country Coordinators joining in to guide the group at each stop. It was quite a team effort.

Music, personal stories and prayers became the threads that tied everything together. The result was a collection of memories and friendships that will endure long after the 32 days are just a memory.

The people of Melanesia still feel a debt of gratitude to CFC Australia, who have been a constant source of help and encouragement. Their kindness has made a difference giving these island nations the boost they need to keep moving forward. Despite all the challenges they face the support, from CFC Australia keeps them going. Greetings of Peace in Christ! God has spoken to His people. Hallelujah! This 2025, the Lord told us to “Rejoice! Take Courage! Return to Galilee.” He called us to remember and reminisce our encounters with God through CFC. He invited us to experience rejuvenation. He promised us of recommissioning – to communion, participation and mission.

For 2026, as we look forward to our 45th Anniversary, the Lord desires for us to delight in and celebrate community life – a life of fellowship with God and with one another. This is captured by the CFC 2026 theme: “In the One, we are one!” inspired by 1 John 1:3-4 (Good News Translation), which states: “What we have seen and heard we announce to you also, so that you will join with us in the fellowship that we have with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. We write this in order that our joy may be complete.”

In today’s world of divisions, walls, and barriers, with Christian communities challenged and broken by disunity, dissents and quarrels, there is an urgent need to focus and behold on what should unite us all: “In the One, we are one!”.

Indeed, our unity, our oneness, our fellowship is rooted and ultimately points to our unity and communion in the Lord Jesus. May our walk with the Lord, and with one another, bring us and our families lasting joy.

Mission accomplished—and the adventure has only just begun!

Last week, we unfurled the vibrant banner of Couples for Christ before His Lordship Bishop Mark Edwards, shepherd of the Diocese of Wagga Wagga and and rekindled a flame he first felt when he celebrated the 2014 Singles for Christ Mass at Loyola College. His enthusiastic blessing has flung open the doors of the diocese and lit a beacon over the Riverina.

The spark was first struck in Leeton NSW—right within the Wagga Wagga Diocese—and from that humble beginning the call for a courtesy visit to Bishop Mark Edwards blazed forth. That single step of faith has now opened a wide horizon for Couples for Christ. Let’s build on the momentum Leeton started, unite our servant-hearts, and flood the Riverina with God’s transforming love!

Now it’s our turn. Let’s rally our gifts, lace up our servant-hearts, and bring the joy of transformed families to Wagga Wagga.

The harvest is ready—so let’s answer the call and watch God’s grace overflow!

A little bit over 350 members of CFC Victoria gathered in joyful thanksgiving to mark its 34th Anniversary with a beautiful celebration of the Holy Mass, led by Bishop Rene Ramirez, Auxiliary Bishop of Melbourne, at Loyola College last night 02 Aug 2025.

It was not only a day of remembrance but a powerful call to mission—a reminder of why we exist as a movement: to bring Christ to every family and build the Kingdom of God through love, service, and faith.

His powerful homily called us to live with eternity in mind—to resist comfort-driven living and instead pursue a life rooted in faith, love, and mission. True success, he reminded us, is not measured by possessions but by our communion with God, family, and community.

“We are not just called to be happy couples—but holy couples.”

He challenged us to raise not just morally upright children, but missionaries, and to store up not material wealth but riches that endure—faith, love, commitment, and holiness.

As we mark this milestone, we are reminded:
Our calling is not just to build good lives, but to build the Kingdom of God—starting at home.

We will be carrying and sharing the Theme Weekend Retreat across Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji. Please include us in your prayers for safe passage and fruitful missions in these regions, as we strive to bring Christ’s love and message to every community.
