PROPHETIC IMPLICATIONS OF EVENTS FROM THE PAST WEEK
Many are probably wondering what the prophetic implications of the events currently unfolding in Israel may be. Well, there are a number of them. However, predominantly it is stage setting for specific events yet future, some of which are at the door. I will summarise these as concisely as possible below with links for further information:
1. JERUSALEM - A CUP OF DRUNKENESS AND A HEAVY STONE TO ALL THE NATIONS
[Zechariah 12:1-3 NKJV] The burden of the word of the LORD against Israel. Thus says the LORD, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. "And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.
That day alluded to by the prophet Zechariah is a reference to the final scene of the seven-year Tribulation, where all the nations are gathered against Jerusalem, Israel, in the valley of Megiddo (in the Hebrew called Armageddon). However, this scene of battle and rebellion in Megiddo cannot occur overnight, there must be a build-up and a lead in for all the nations to come against Israel.
The groundswell of hatred towards the Jewish nation is very much beginning to manifest, with even the United Nations refusing to recognise Hamas as a terror group, as you can see from the linked articles:

2. EZEKIEL 38 – 39: INVASION IN THE MOUNTAINS OF ISRAEL
The key players of a yet future invasion into the mountains of Israel from the north are Russia, Turkey and Iran (along with other nations). In addition, it is Saudi Arabia that is highlighted as the one predominant Middle East nation that protests this invasion! We see all of these nations increasingly showing their hand exactly as Ezekiel prophesied, which was not the case from the time the prophecy was given some 2,600 years prior up until very recently.
It is the manner of how these invading nations will be dealt with by God Himself that sets this event apart from other wars. The words of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will be particularly haunting for him once this prophecy comes to pass.

3. DANIEL 9:27 COVENANT
What we are seeing manifest today, I believe, is the final piece of stage setting to the main event of the Tribulation. This will commence once the seven-year covenant brokered by the Antichrist is confirmed with Israel according to Daniel 9:27, and is one to ensure the peace and security of the nation of Israel, and may encompass the immediate surrounding nations. (Refer posts linked below for greater context on this covenant).
[Daniel 9:27 NKJV] "Then he [Antichrist] shall confirm a covenant with many for one week… [A ‘week’ being a group of seven years].
The word ‘many’ is believed by most Bible scholars to refer to the leaders of the nation of Israel, primarily based on how this word in the Hebrew is also used in Daniel 11:33. If that be correct, we now see the ‘many’ unified after all the recent divisions throughout this current year (https://www.timesofisrael.com/.../netanyahu-gantz-agree.../
). Further, what better time is there to do such a deal than when there is an existential threat to the survival of the nation of Israel and the possibility of major war in the region?

4. THE RED HORSE OF WAR (REVELATION 6) AND CIVIL UNREST (MATTHEW 24:7)
In Matthew 24:7 and Revelation 6:4, it is prophesied that very quickly at the onset of the seven-year Tribulation there will be an outbreak of global wars between nations, but also civil wars between ethnicities. In fact, it implies that people will be butchering each other on the streets due to tensions between ethnicities and ideologies (refer linked posts below for more information).
We saw this past week a brazen call by Hamas for a ‘Day of rage’ across the globe supposedly in support of the Palestinians, scheduled for Friday 13th of all days… (https://www.zerohedge.com/.../watch-leftist-activists...
). But who are they actually opposing? It is primarily Jews and Christians.
Further, is it not strange how the volume of “refugees” of north African and Middle Eastern descent pouring into Europe, the UK, the US and elsewhere, the vast majority of which are young males (https://slaynews.com/.../eu-illegal-migrants-women-2022.../
), is rapidly increasing without deterrent by the host governments? In fact, you could argue it is being actively encouraged. As the saying goes, never let a good crisis go to waste. A global crisis requires a global solution, and civil unrest requires a cessation of civil liberties.

These headlines are from the past week alone, and strongly point to the prophecies noted above coming to fruition in the very near future. We are also told in the Bible that events happen more frequently and with greater intensity leading into and during the Tribulation, effectively revving up. The rolling crisis and events of the past weeks, months and few years clearly attest to that and of the lateness of the hour.

LIES AND DECEPTION:

Satan is the God of this world. He uses his resources to spread his lies and deceit. Therefore, it doesn't make sense for you and I to listen to and follow what the world has to say about how to live our lives.

This is a foundational understanding that every Bible believing, born-again Christian must believe when living in this world.

Satan has created a world that is built upon lies and deceit. Brothers and sisters, I urge you to be discerning. Trust no man that is a liar. Don't ever listen to him. Always keep away from him.

Instead, only continue to rely upon and follow God's word.

The Book of Habakkuk

Why study this book?
The book of Habakkuk contains an exchange between Habakkuk and the Lord that is “similar to those in Jeremiah 12 and D&C 121” (Guide to the Scriptures, “Habakkuk”; scriptures.lds.org). Like Jeremiah and Joseph Smith, Habakkuk asked God sincere and bold questions that reflected concern for his people and for the Lord’s plans for them. By studying the book of Habakkuk, students can learn about the value of taking their troubles and questions to Heavenly Father in honest prayer.

Who wrote this book?
This book is attributed to a prophet named Habakkuk (see Habakkuk 1:1; 3:1). Little is known about Habakkuk except that he was a prophet who lived in the kingdom of Judah, “possibly in the reign of Josiah or of Jehoiakim (about 600 B.C.)” (Bible Dictionary, “Habakkuk”). If this dating is correct, he would have been a contemporary of the prophets Jeremiah, Zephaniah, Obadiah, and Ezekiel.

When and where was it written?
We do not know exactly when or where this book was written. The date of Habakkuk’s ministry is uncertain, but it likely took place shortly before the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem in 597 B.C. (see Habakkuk 1:6).

What are some distinctive features of this book?
Habakkuk’s dialogue with God takes the form of alternating speeches in Habakkuk 1–2. Some of Habakkuk’s petitions take the form of a grievance, such as “O Lord, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear!” (Habakkuk 1:2). These reflect the deep emotion and desperation the righteous may feel in times of great suffering (see Psalms 6:3; 13:1; 35:17; 74:10; 79:5; D&C 121:1–6) and can remind us that even in our anguish, we may turn to Heavenly Father and pour out our troubles in honest, heartfelt prayer.

In response to Habakkuk’s prayer, God counselled him to be patient and faithful and reassured him of God’s justice, concern, and plans. The poetic prayer in Habakkuk 3 contains Habakkuk’s praises to the Lord for the miraculous ways He has protected and delivered His people.

Outline:
Habakkuk 1 Habakkuk learns that the kingdom of Judah will be conquered by the Chaldeans (Babylonians). In his distress, he asks why the Lord would allow a wicked nation to destroy Judah.

Habakkuk 2 The Lord reminds Habakkuk that His plans are not yet completed but will be fulfilled at a later time. God’s justice will eventually come upon the wicked.

Habakkuk 3 Habakkuk offers a prayer or poetic psalm of praise to God and His majesty.
