Thought of the week
SPOILT RICH KIDS
One of the hot topics of this generation is the cost of living. Many are finding it increasingly difficult to make ends meet. The modern standard of living makes it difficult to support a spouse, 2.4 kids, and a dog. And yet, there has always been the mega rich who have risen to the top on the backs of the common people. Elon Musk has amassed a $240 billion fortune. J. D. Rockefeller was worth $663 billion. Even King Solomon was worth an estimated $2.1 trillion. But all the rich men of history combined amount to no more than pocket change for God.
God’s wealth is far greater than the riches of earth. His wealth spans a universe of uncountable planets and stars. But more than this, He possesses things beyond value... peace, joy, wisdom, patience, power, and righteousness (to name just a few). So if you have ever wished to be the favourite child of wealthy parents, rejoice, for that is what you are to God! “Favour is heaped upon favour, gift upon gift. The whole treasury of heaven is open to those He seeks to save” DA 57. And He seeks to save everyone!
The Bible does not teach once saved always saved. The Bible does not teach there are a select few predestined for salvation. God’s desire has always been to save us all. But our final destination has always been our choice. So we must learn to value what God values. Forget about money and focus on things of real value like love, faithfulness, and relationships. Whatever you need to secure
life eternal with God, He will be more than happy to give you in abundance. So don’t pray small, remember the whole treasury of heaven is at your saintly disposal.
“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus” Phil. 4:19.
