One of the mysteries of life is why good people suffer. Most cultures around the world believe in some form of "Do good, get good OR Do bad and get bad." This simplistic formula is a twisting of a more complex reality that bad things might actually happen because someone is good a person! There are many layers to this discussion but the old story of Job and his terrible sufferings opens the door to understanding a deeper truth to help us journey through our own times of sorry and suffering. Join us this Sunday (July 12) as we consider Job and what God wants us to learn from this man's experience.

Following on from celebrating the events of Easter it is good to think about how special the Bible is. Whether we consider the historicity of the Bible or of the inspiration of the Bible, it stands out as the most unique book in the entire history of humanity. And, we are all better off when we let it shape the way we think and live!

Eltham Presbyterian Church is partnering with the Graeme Clark Foundation to honour the legacy of David Burt, a beloved parishioner and long time board member of the foundation.
Grant Holley, chairman of the Foundation formally launched a scholarship in David Burt’s memory to help continue research into treatments for sensory deficits, including hearing loss. The cochlear implant, invented by Graeme Clark has become famous around the world. Like Graeme Clark, David Burt’s life and work was shaped by his Christian faith. Also, as both have long connections with the Eltham Presbyterian Church it is fitting for us to partner with the Foundation in establishing this scholarship. The scholarship will depend our donations from the public so we encourage to do so by visiting the Graeme Clark Foundation web page.
