As we continue our Micah series, it is useful to understand the context and timeline of where Micah sits in Israel's history; its link to the promises of Abraham; its subsequent exile and the hope it brings (towards the end of the book) for sinful Israel.

Micah describes God's coming judgment on Israel, but it also outlines God's promise to be merciful and restore his people to the land.

The Pentateuch, from Genesis to Deuteronomy, are the foundation of the bible. They introduce the key covenants of God and along with the rest of the Old Testament, lay the groundwork for the coming of Jesus Christ.

In part one, under the leadership of Moses, the Lord redeemed his people out of bo***ge in Egypt and formalized his covenantal love for them at Sinai.

In part two, under the leadership of Joshua, the Lord brings his people into the Promise land, fight their wars for them and gives them "rest".

Ray and Steve faithfully explain the book of Joshua, which outlines God's people entering, taking, possessing and retaining the Promise land.

Today we celebrated a significant milestone in WPC's history. While Ray has been serving faithfully as a Bible teacher and an elder for a number of years, today is an answer to our prayers of having Ray as our ordained minister. Praise be to God!
