Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sangat G.
If committee is asking for the support and views on what they should do, Firstly open the comment box and let the Sangat write their views openly. This must be transparent. How would Sangat know about the suggestions or views you received into the emails.
Secondly, Can you clarify who you asking for the support and views, is that the same Sangat you rejected the Membership ?
Free advice: Before asking Sangat about their suggestions, you must approve their Membership first and let them be a part of the Sikh community.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
Dear Members,
We wish to advise of a recent update regarding the notice of annual general meeting. As you know, an AGM is long overdue, and holding one has been impossible because of litigation by some persons against the Brisbane Sikh Temple (Gurdwara) Inc (“the Temple”).
After the recent win in the Court by the Temple in avoiding the appointment of a receiver, we have been preparing for our next annual general meeting. This annual general meeting is due to be held on 24 August 2022.
We have just been advised that GURMEET SINGH, SATINDER PAL SINGH and HARMINDER SINGH (“the Applicants”) who started the legal proceeding are bringing further legal proceedings against the Temple. Additionally they are threatening to get an injunction to prevent the annual general meeting from going ahead.
As you all know, we are required to follow the instructions of the Golden Temple, the Sri Amritsar Sahib.
Since 2017, the Sri Amritsar Sahib has decreed that it is to be avoided for issues to be referred to the Court System. The 2017 letter from Sri Amritsar Sahib in Punjabi and English translation is attached.
“
The Management Committee wants this litigation to stop. It is wasting the Temple’s money and donations from you all. We have made concessions to the Applicants, however the Temple is still being forced to go to Court again.
We are now writing to ask you all for your support, and your views on what we should do.
Please email the Secretary at [email protected] with your views and comments.
The Management Committee
Brisbane Sikh Temple (Gurdwara) Inc”
