Marion Mosque once again opened its door to our visitors on Saturday, 29 October 2022.

It was yet another successful event.

We hope you enjoyed the event and were enlightened with the experience as much as we enjoyed hosting it.

Wonderful shout out to our volunteers & staffs for your amazing contribution towards our annual Mosque Open Day!

2 more sleeps left until our National Mosque Open Day!

This year, Islamic Museum of Australia (IMA) joins us to be part of this event. IMA is a not-for profit foundation founded in May 2010 with the purpose of showcasing a diverse range of Islamic arts including architecture, calligraphy, paintings, glass, ceramics and textiles.

Come join us in this Saturday, 29 October from 11am to 2pm to learn about the rich heritage that Muslims and Islamic societies have brought to the world and more importantly Australia.

This is an open invitation to all members from our local and wider community 😊

In less than 5 days' Marion Mosque's door will open for visitors to have a tour of the mosque with explanations about the buildings, history, the significance of the structures and designs.

One of the interesting feature of this year's event is the Human Library. There are 5 human books available for loan.

Loan 'Tales of A Revert' and listen to the epic journey of 6 beautiful women who found each other through Islam.

Join us this Saturday and for us to build positive relationships!
This is an open invitation to all members from our local and wider community 😊

Get your Arabic cuppa, book your time with these books and listen to their lived experiences as Women In Islam.

From Polo to Pavlova tells a story of mother-daughter of East Turkistan background, of how they navigate their journey to uphold their faiths without prejudice in the fast changing cosmopolitan city of Adelaide.

Part of the Human Library, we are featuring various book genre available for loan during Mosque Open Day, 29 October.

Crikey! Am I Aussie Enough? encapsulates Syasya and Sara's growing pains as they negotiate their identity and belonging in Australia.
So, come early and loan Syasya & Sara's book to listen their challenges through personal dialogues with them - the real human book!

Visit our Human Library on 29 October from 11am. You can loan 1, 2 or more books. Final check out is 1pm!

Human Library is an integral part of this year's Mosque Open Day.

This concept aims to create a positive environment for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through personal dialogue.

For a start, you can borrow this amazing Human Book titled:
Justice - Al Adl by Ayan and Zainab.

This book talks about the journey of female Muslim criminal lawyers who assist, represent and advocate for victims of injustice.

This is a perfect opportunity to learn, explore and embrace diversity through personal dialogue with the human book.

So, come and visit our Human Library on 29 October from 11am. You can loan 1, 2 or more books. Final check out is 1pm!

National Mosque Open Day (NMOD) returns on Saturday 29th of October 2022. Invite your family and friends and join us on this day as we welcome you into our mosque, Marion Mosque🕌.

"Women in Islam" is the central theme and with that, we are introducing a new concept to the event - Human Library.
Human Library is very similar to the regular library except the books are real humans.

This concept is an integral part of NMOD to build positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices through personal dialogue.

6 Human Books featuring Muslim women from various walks of life will be available for loan on that day.

Take a chapter out of their books and hear what's like to walk in their shoes and ask them anything!

This day will also entail a tour of the mosque, traditional performance and a wonderful opportunity to find more about Islam and our Muslim community living in South Australia.

COME along, join us on this day learn a little bit about Muslims and Islam.

This is an open invitation to all members from our local and wider community 😊
