House of Grace Christian Church Maitland

House of Grace Christian Church Maitland Welcome to Church! With a heart to do justice, we seek to practically help our community, and each other become all God created us to be.

At the heart of who we are is Relational Revival - that each of us would grow closer to God, that our Church community is known by how we love one another, and the Church would build a deep connection with the community we call home. With a love for mercy, we welcome each person as they are, sharing the Love of God with all. With a posture of humility, we seek to live out God’s unique plan for our lives.

Monday Morning Devotions

After Holy Spirit came upon the believers at Pentecost, we see how He started to distribute spiritual gifts to believers. Starting with the gift of tongues at Pentecost, Holy Spirit distributed gifts of prophecy, words of knowledge, hospitality, and many others.

As believers took the Gospel to the ends of the earth, Holy Spirit manifested through the spiritual gifts, revealing God's presence to many. And in His kindness and love, He still distributes spiritual gifts to us today. Leading and guiding us on how and when to use the gifts, Holy Spirit makes a way for us to be actively involved in advancing the Kingdom of God so that more people would come to know Jesus.

This week, as seek the heart of God, may we thank him for his love and his kindness to give us gifts. And may we lean on Holy Spirit to have the willingness and boldness to use our gifts so that more people can experience the life-changing love and presence of God.

Monday Morning Devotions

When Holy Spirit poured His Spirit out on the day of Pentecost, thousands of lives were changed. His power miraculously enabled the followers of Jesus gathered to declare God's wonders in other native tongues. His power also filled Peter with boldness and conviction to preach the good news of Jesus to the thousands that were gathered there.

And His power does the same thing for us today. When Holy Spirit pours His power out, one of the gifts He gives us is the ability to speak in a heavenly language that allows us to speak with God more intimately. He also fills us with boldness and conviction to speak the truth of the Gospel with love and grace.

Holy Spirit's power is not for us to keep to ourselves; it is for us to take out into the community to point people to Jesus. Our spiritual gifts are for the glory of God, to advance His Kingdom. They are to empower us to love like Jesus and to lovingly and graciously stand on our convictions.

As we remember the Day of Pentecost, may we remember that Holy Spirit freely and generously pours out His gifts for the glory of God. May we all desire more of Holy Spirit and His power to reach a hurting world.

Monday Morning Devotions

God loves you. As you are in this moment, God loves you, and there is nothing you can say or do that will make Him love you anymore. His love for us is unconditional and beautiful. But whilst God loves us as we are, He loves us too much to keep us as we are. And in His infinite kindness and grace, He sent Holy Spirit for us to help us.

As the personhood and presence of God, Holy Spirit indwells in us to lovingly change us from the inside out. He guides in the ways of God, leading us on a path that draws us closer to Jesus. He teaches us the Word of God, giving us deeper understanding of God's Word and His heart. He convicts us of our sin, leading us away from unrighteousness and towards holiness.

And as He leads and guides and teaches us; as He changes our desires, He starts to slowly transform us and fill us with His love, kindness, gentleness. He renews our minds and our hearts and leads us towards righteousness, He transforms our hearts, aligning them further to the heart of Jesus. And the more our hearts align to the heart of Jesus, the more like Jesus we become. And the more like Jesus we become, the more we will love people with the love of Jesus.

There is no transforming power like the power of Holy Spirit. He is loving and kind and wants God's best for us. Today, can I encourage us all to surrender our hearts to Jesus and allow Holy Spirit to lead and guide us. To not just accept Holy Spirit in our hearts, but to intentionally walk with Him and willingly respond to guidance, living our lives empowered by Holy Spirit.

Monday Morning Devotionals

Our Father in heaven is a gracious and loving God. He desires for us to be in deep communion with Him and to know Jesus intimately. After Jesus ascended to heaven after His resurrection, God didn't leave his people without access to Himself, He sent Holy Spirit. Our Advocate, Counsellor, Guide, Comforter, and Healer.

Holy Spirit is not some mystical mist. He is not contained to flames of fire or pillars of smoke. He is the presence of God indwelling in us, and He wants to give us a deeper revelation of Jesus and make us more like Jesus. When we surrender our lives to Jesus as Lord and Saviour, it is Holy Spirit who convicts us and corrects us when we act in ways that aren't in line with God's Word. It is Holy Spirit who comforts us when we are feeling heartbroken or in despair. And it is Holy Spirit who leads and guides us in the ways we should go.

Holy Spirit was sent so that we would not walk this side of eternity alone. So that we would have one who walks closer than a brother, with us at all times. And today, Holy Spirit wants to walk with you. He wants to lead and guide and show the depths of God's love for you. And all we need to do is accept Him and invite Him into our hearts.

Can I encourage you to lift your heart to Holy Spirit, to thank Him, and ask Him to show you God's love and plans for you today. And if you've yet to invite Holy Spirit into your heart, we would love to pray with you to receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, and to receive Holy Spirit into your heart.

Monday Morning Devotions

We often hear that love heals. The love of a spouse, a parent, a child, or a friend can heal parts of our hearts that may have been broken. But the only love that can heal us to wholeness is the love of God.

When Jesus went to the cross, it was so we could be spiritually healed. When we make Jesus our Lord and Saviour, He restores our soul. His love penetrates even that hardest of hearts and starts to mend the fractured pieces.

The lies we've believed. The betrayals we've experienced. The pain we've endured. They all start to heal when we allow the love of God to enter our hearts. And as He heals our spirit, it opens the door for Him to heal us emotionally, too. Because the love of God draws us close to His heart and tenderly binds up all the hurts and fractures we have. Because He is near to the broken-hearted, and He binds up their wounds and comforts their sorrows.

If you have never experienced the love of God, or invited Jesus to be your Lord and Saviour, can I encourage you to reach out to Him today? And if you would like to know more about Jesus, we would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
