✨ 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝, 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 – 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 ✨

St. Sebastian's Syro-Malabar Mission Geelong is incredibly proud to see our Lenten Blood Donation Campaign gaining wonderful momentum!

Initiated and passionately led by our Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Sijeesh Pullankunnel, this 𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐬𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 continues to inspire our community.

𝐒𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐫, 𝟒𝟔 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟐𝟔 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, including 12 life-saving plasma donations — 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝟕𝟖 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬.

This incredible effort has been warmly supported by the LifeBlood team, our parishioners, friends from the wider Geelong community, and neighbouring parishes — with special thanks to Fr. Joseph Panackal IVD, the Parish Priest, St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish, Meredith.

What’s even more inspiring is:
• The movement is growing
• More people are stepping forward every day
• Awareness is turning into action

We are witnessing something powerful — people not only donating once, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧, and committing to continue even beyond this campaign. That’s how lives are truly saved.

As we journey through this Lenten season, let’s remember:

Grateful to be part of Lumen Fidei 6.1, the National Conference for Catechists of the Syro-Malabar Eparchy of St Thomas the Apostle, Melbourne.

We are especially proud of the catechists from St Sebastian’s Syro-Malabar Mission, Geelong, for their outstanding participation and maximum attendance at the conference. Your commitment to faith formation and community truly inspires us. We also congratulate you on the beautiful dance performance, which was warmly appreciated by all.

We were blessed to be joined by Monsignor Francis Kolenchery, Rev. Dr Sijeesh Pullankunnel (Chancellor), Rev. Fr Mathew Areeplackal (Eparchial Director of Catechesis), and Rev. Fr Alex Valliyamthadathil (Forane Director of Catechesis) along with the other priests who were present.

At St Sebastian’s Syro-Malabar Mission, Geelong, it was such a joy to see our parish family gathered together.

We began our Catechism year with hope, welcomed our little kinder children with big smiles and open hearts, celebrated the enthusiasm behind our full attendance and Power Challenge 2025, and proudly cheered on our Grade 12 graduates as they step into a new season of life.

From the tiniest first steps in faith to the exciting milestones of young adulthood, each moment reminded us that we grow together — as one family, guided by God’s love. Feeling grateful for our children, our families, and the beautiful spirit of our community. 🙏✨
