If you will, light a candle this evening and keep Helen and her family in your thoughts and prayers 🙏🕯Violence is not the answer 😞

The Uniting Church in Australia stands with the people of Wangaratta and continues to hold Helen Haines MP, her family and loved ones in prayer.

In moments of violence and grief, our response must be grounded in compassion, dignity and peace. We pray for Helen's recovery, for strength for her family, and for a community spirit that rejects hatred and division.

At 8pm (AEDT) on Friday, light a candle at your front door, beside a window, in your garden or on your verandah, and stand in silence for fifteen minutes.

This is not a political gathering. It is a simple act of compassion.

As people of faith, we pray for Helen's recovery, for strength and comfort for her family, and for peace for all those impacted by this distressing act of violence.

Together, let us bear witness to a different way. We choose kindness over cruelty, compassion over hatred, and peace over violence.

Beautifully done Maureen!! 🤍🙌✨️

💗 A Very Special Bag for a Very Special Lady! 💗

Our talented Maureen has created this absolutely beautiful bag for a lady named Joy, who is one of the wonderful volunteers at Aussie Hero Quilts. 🇦🇺🧵

Every year, Joy generously gives her time and talents to make over 70 bags, one for each of the volunteers who help make Aussie Hero Quilts such a special organisation.

But this year, it was Joy’s turn to receive something special! 💕

Maureen lovingly made this stunning Australian wildflower bag, especially for Joy, as a heartfelt thank you for all she does.

What a beautiful way to recognise someone who gives so much to others!

👏 Well done, Maureen, and thank you, Joy, for your incredible generosity and dedication.

It’s wonderful to see kindness being returned with kindness. 💗
