Gracious God โ€“ Creator, Christ and Holy Spirit,
on this day you gather us as one Church,
across this wide land โ€“ many cultures and voices.

Your Word reminds us: โ€œThere are varieties of gifts, but the same Spiritโ€ฆ For in the one Spirit we were all baptised into one bodyโ€ (1 Corinthians 12).
And so, we come, listening, trusting that your Spirit is already at work among us.

Teach us to listen deeply:
to your Word that gives life,
to one another in all our diversity,
and to the wisdom of First Peoples,
with whom we walk in covenant.

Lord Jesus Christ,
you call us to be woven together in your love,
not erased in our differences but held together by your grace.
Where there is distance, draw us close.
Where there is misunderstanding, grow in us patience and humility.
Where there is hurt, lead us in truth, healing, and renewed trust.

Holy Spirit,
breathe upon your Church again.
Renew us for your mission.
Shape us as a people who listen before we speak,
who discern together,
and who follow where you lead.

We give thanks for the signs of your presence among us
in quiet faithfulness, in courageous leadership,
and in communities seeking to reflect your love across every boundary.

Make us one, O God,
one body, one people, sent in Christโ€™s name.
Amen.

Questions for Reflection
โ€ข Where is the Holy Spirit inviting us to listen more deeply?
โ€ข Whose voices might we need to hear more clearly in our life together?
โ€ข What does covenant look like in practice in our community?
โ€ข Where do I see Christโ€™s love already weaving us together?
โ€ข What might the Spirit be renewing or reshaping in us at this time?

Volunteer registrations are open!

Volunteers are the heart of our operations, without our dedicated community BWNS would not exist.

To register as a volunteer visit: https://bttr.im/vjk52

Weโ€™re holding a Volunteer Information & Training Evening for new and existing volunteers:

7pm Tuesday 26 May 2026
Holy Trinity Church, 14 Keck Street Flora Hill.

You do not need to pre-register for the information and training evening, simply turn up on the night.

Our Chairperson Chris Dalton has this message for anyone considering volunteering.

โ€œ I volunteered for the first time in 2025. I was nervous before my first shift. The good news is that volunteering at the Shelter was far easier and far more meaningful than I expected. Return volunteers like me keep coming back for the sense of connection and fulfilment it provides.โ€

Our Easter Prayer ...
We look around and there is so much suffering.
It is hard to hold the light of Hope into places of pain, despair and disrespect.
Into places of stress and conflict, bring Hope and Peace.

Lent Week 6: Palm Sunday
On Palm Sunday we come to the end of our journey alongside our global partners. Weโ€™ve stood with our brothers and sisters in Christ in Timor-Leste, West Papua, India, Zimbabwe and throughout the Pacific as they respond to disaster; plan for emergencies; provide food, water and hope in so many communities devastated by drought or flood.

PRAY:
God of life, whose Spirit breathes through all creation, we give you thanks for communities of courage and hope.
We are grateful for the chance to work together in faith, bringing new life from dry land. For hands that draw clean water, nurture health, and kindle learning, for wisdom, resilience, and unyielding love, we are grateful.
Bless our brothers and sisters who give, pray, and advocate.
Strengthen us to walk together in justice and partnership, living the promise of Jesusโ€™ life, death, and resurrection. Amen

Lent Week 5: India โ€“ Disaster Relief
The Punjab region of India and Pakistan was lashed by monsoon rains last year that caused the worst flooding in decades. Bright green rice paddies โ€“ due to be harvested โ€“ were destroyed; Homes collapsed; families were left living on roof tops watching their food sources and livelihoods disappear under thick mud.

PRAY:
God of all peoples and nations,
we cry out for communities in India and across the world
where rising heat, flood, and drought steal safety, food, and future,
and where the most vulnerable bear the heaviest cost.
We bring before you our faithful friends in your Churches in India,
as well as all those who share your practical love in times of disaster. Amen.
