Final Day at Eagle Vale Anglican Church
This morning, Kwabena shared his testimony and how he came to Christ. Then Matt R preached on Matthew 3:1-12, on the coming of the kingdom of God and the need for us to repent. His explanation of repentance was quite clear: for we repent from sin towards Christ by trusting in him daily.
After the church lunch, our team had a final team debrief during mission week where Steve (EVAC’s minister) shared much of his wisdom and advice from his experience in ministry. One of the lines that stood out was his church’s attitude of “loving to death” the visitors and newcomers of the church, which was quite apparent with the number of visitors who have stayed at EVAC along the years.
In the evening, EVAC held a more casual style of evening church, a prayer and praise night. James shared his testimony and his challenge of the certainty of the faith that he has. Mark preached on Colossians 3:15-17, encouraging us see Christ's work in us for peace with God, among us to admonish one another, and through us to give thanks to God.
Overall, our team has enjoyed our mission experience this week! Our mission at Eagle Vale has shown us the value of ordinary people being willing to serve and care for the lost, not judging those who come through the door but “loving them to death” because of Christ’s love for them.
Prayer points:
• Praise God that he has worked in Eagle Vale Anglican Church to bring all sorts of people to himself
• Praise God for the great experience that the mission team shared together this week
• Pray for the ministry at EVAC, that God will continue to empower the staff and members in their missional efforts, so that more people will come to know the loving and saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!
