On the night of Jesus' Last Supper with his disciples, "while they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." Matthew 26:26-28

At Holy Communion or the Eucharist (Thanksgiving) we recall Jesus' once and for all, for all people, sufficient sacrifice, so that as believers in Jesus' promises, we may share in life for all eternity. We do this almost weekly in our churches in the Upper Hunter, as a reminder of our deep and abiding relationship with Jesus Christ, who gave his life for the sake of the whole world.

Our Upper Hunter Minster Churches will celebrate the Feast of Thanksgiving for Holy Communion (in Latin Corpus Christi) on Sunday, 7 June:

St Alban's Muswellbrook at 9.30am
St Paul's Murrurundi at 9.30am
Holy Trinity Merriwa at 10.00am
St Matthias Denman at 10.00am
St Mark's Wybong at 12.30am
St Alban's Muswellbrook Youth and Families' Church at 4.30pm

04/06/2026

The historic St Alban's Anglican Church in Muswellbrook is celebrating 150 years since the consecration of the "new" church building by Bishop William Tyrell on 17 June 1876.

The Upper Hunter community are invited to join with the Parish of Muswellbrook on Sunday, 21 June at 10.30am for our Celebration Eucharist followed by lunch at the St Alban's Church Hall and a Celebration Concert at the Hunter Regional Conservatorium from 2.00pm.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

On Trinity Sunday we celebrate that God, the Holy Trinity, is relational. The relational life of God is what we as the community of faith or the church are called to reflect in the world; modelling participation, communion, fellowship, and shared lives. The Trinity of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, is our model, for justice, peace, and living in relationship with one another. In the image of the Trinity, we are most fully human when we live authentically as people of reconciliation and love.

As depicted in the famous Rublev icon, the Trinity invites us - each and every one of us - to take our seat at the table.

As the Apostle Paul concludes his second letter to the Corinthians: “Finally, brothers and sisters, farewell. Put things in order, listen to my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints greet you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.”

Worship in the Upper Hunter Minster Churches on Sunday, 31 May:
St Alban’s Muswellbrook at 9.30am
St Paul’s Murrurundi at 10.00am
Holy Trinity Merriwa at 10.00am
St Matthias Denman at 10.00am

EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
