H3O Church

H3O Church We gather at 4pm on Sundays at Narraweena Baptist Church, 37 Greenwood Avenue, Narraweena. This means it's more than coming to church on a Sunday.

Our name H3O, reflects our desire to be people that have an "all of life" faith. Instead it's about having our head on, heart on and hands on when it comes to connecting with God, His mission and the people and world He has created.

TONIGHT at 7pm! Warriewood Community Centre

We are so excited to be one of a dozen local churches coming together for the inaugural Combined Churches of the Northern Beaches Reconciliation Service. It’s a National Reconciliation Week, and what better way to embody this year’s theme “All-in”.

The way of Jesus is the way of reconciliation. In Christ, God moves towards a divided world, and as his people we are invited to be peacemakers who listen, learn and seek healing. For us in Australia, that includes taking steps towards reconciliation with First Nations peoples, listening to truth-telling, honouring the richness of Aboriginal culture and the resilience of First Nations communities, and choosing relationship over distance.

The service is First Nations led, and brings together local mob, churches, schools, community. We are excited for what this will deepen and grow locally and beyond ❤️💛🖤

Join us this winter on one of our formation retreats.

We’ll be staying at Clifton Cottage in Kangaroo Valley, surrounded by nature and stunning views, with no reception or wifi — a chance to step out of the normal noise and pace of life, and make space to be with God.

There’ll be guided times of silence, solitude, prayer and reflection, and plenty of time to connect with each other over shared meals and around the campfire.

Friday 26 June – Sunday 28 June
Friday 17 July – Sunday 19 July

Men’s Retreats:
Friday 3 July – Sunday 5 July

We are so excited to see this dream become a reality in 2026…

https://events.humanitix.com/northernbeaches-nrw-service

After a few heavy weeks - personally and publicly - I'm grateful for spaces that call us back to peace, truth-telling, prayer, and community.

There has been much personal grief, public grief, and so much noise, division, and heaviness.

Which is why gathering together is important.

For many years, it has been a dream of mine, to see churches, across the Northern Beaches of the place now called Sydney, come together for and with Aboriginal peoples and justice. This year, that dream becomes a reality for National Reconciliation Week 2026!

I have the deep privilege of hosting the inaugural combined churches National Reconciliation Week Service on the Northern Beaches - bringing together people, churches across denominations, and community under this year's theme - All In! We really are going to be All In!

The Northern Beaches is a spiritual home and community for me and so this means so much.

At a time when these lands now called Australia still has much work to do, we will gather from Gayamaygal Country to Garigal Country, from Manly Beach to Palm Beach, and all the beaches in between, and we will gather at Warriewood Community Centre on 27 May at 7pm (arrive 6:45pm), to pray, listen, sing, build friendship, and seek peace together.

Reconciliation is not easy and it is definitely unfinished business. But I still dream and I still believe that there is beauty in people choosing to come together. I am still All In for Reconciliation - I am still choosing to show up, still choosing compassion over judgement, and still choosing love over hate.
And despite everything - I still believe we are called to walk together.

I would love you to join in. All are welcome.

When: Wednesday 27 May - 6:45pm for 7pm start

2 days to go until our “Let’s Tackle Gambling Harm” community forum!

More than $9 billion was lost on poker machines in NSW in 2025. On the Northern Beaches, around $3 million is lost every week.

That money comes from somewhere. Family budgets. Rent and mortgage payments. Grocery money. Kids’ needs. Futures.

And the harm isn’t just financial. Gambling addiction is linked to mental health struggles, relationship breakdown, and domestic and family violence.

This Thursday night, come hear from Andy Hope sharing his lived experience of lifelong gambling addiction, and Rev. Jon Owen from Wayside Chapel speaking from the frontlines of harm in vulnerable communities.

We’re also excited to welcome Dr Sophie Scamps MP, Federal Member for Mackellar, as a guest panellist for the evening.

If you care about the wellbeing of our community, I’d love to encourage you to come along.

On the road to Emmaus, two of Jesus’ followers are walking away from Jerusalem in the aftermath of the crucifixion, carrying heartbreak and disappointment. As they try to make sense of what has happened, they say to the stranger beside them, “we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel” (Luke 24:21).

“We had hoped…”

Lost hope is something we can all relate to. The disciples had hoped for redemption, for restoration, for Jesus to make things right in the way they expected. We know what it is to hope too — for healing, for reconciliation, for breakthrough, for a different outcome, for God to show up in the way we had imagined.

Instead, they found themselves confused, grieving, and disoriented. And it’s there, on the road, in the middle of their dashed hopes, that the risen Jesus comes near and walks with them.

That was the story we reflected on at H3O this Easter Sunday as we watched the sun break through the clouds over the ocean. Part of the good news of Easter is that Jesus meets people whose hopes have been shattered. He meets us in our confusion, our grief, and our disappointment, and gently leads us back to hope.

Even when we can’t yet recognise him, he is often closer than we realise.

Q: What does H3O Church offer kids?
A: HEAPS!

At H3O, we love seeing kids and young people grow in a whole-of-life faith in Jesus — with spaces where they can belong, have fun, ask questions, and be encouraged.

Here’s some of what’s happening regularly:
🌱Every Sunday — programs for ages 2 through to Year 12 (crèche, kids, and youth)
🌱On Board Youth — youth group every Friday night for high schoolers
🌱 Mainly Music - music based playgroup every Monday at 9.30am
🌱CAMPFIRE — primary-aged kids day camp every school holidays
🌱Kids Adventures — quarterly outings for primary-aged kids in nature to explore, connect, and build friendships
🌱Plus loads more opportunities for intergenerational connection and community

We also love creating space for kids and young people to serve and be key members in the life of our church — not just the future of the church, but a vital part of it now.

If you’re a family looking for a church where your kids will be known, welcomed, and helped to grow in Jesus, we’d love to meet you.

Come say hi this Sunday at 4pm!
