“You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!” ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Today, our Senior Leader, Wise Yalani, continued sharing the message on our theme for this year: “Building Kingdom or Godly Character.”

When we develop godly character, we reflect godly values in our daily lives. Our character matters to God because it reveals who we are within and how we live out our faith.

“But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”” ‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We’ve also learned that godly character is built and developed through the tribulations, challenges, problems, and trials we face in life. These difficult seasons are not in vain; God can use them to strengthen our faith, develop our patience, and shape us to become more like Christ.

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So, don’t run away from your problems or challenges. Instead, see them as opportunities for growth, strengthening your faith, and developing godly character. God can use the very trials we face to shape us, build our spiritual maturity, and transform us to become more like Christ.

Remember, sometimes God uses the challenges we go through to develop the character He desires to see in us.

And let us continue to build a Christ-centred character that honours God, reflects His love, and influences others for His Kingdom. 🙏
